I shake my head every time I watch a Just Rolled in video. It’s funny how you’ll get customers that will blow their engines up and ones the dealer to cover under warranty when they have driven their vehicles like 40 to 60,000 miles without having a single oil change done in that time period. There’s people out there that probably wouldn’t know how to even pop their hood or check a tire pressure if their life depended on it.

@@railfanpat1719That does happen. Many years ago, a doctor friend of Ours had Me look at His Jeep Wrangler for a no start issue after it started and “stalled”. It had a slight resistance issue with several blue bearings. Exact issue, don’t remember the mileage but it never had an oil change, or check. Those 4.0’s can die.

One of my roommates in college asked me to look at his 1980something suburban. He said it was leaking oil really badly from the rear axle. I went out and checked. Told him to open the rear door. I removed the spare tire and found a vintage plastic oil quart that had burst. We had a lol, cleaned it up and went inside.

I just couldn't help but to LOL at this one. At first, I knew it couldn't be brake fluid just from where it was dripping. When you showed us it was red, that proved it wasn't brake fluid. Then I thought "transmission fluid? Back there? What did they spill in the back?" Well, you answered that one in a hurry. I thought I would be disappointed because of how short the video was. But not so. Thanks for another great video, Ivan.

Years ago, I had a good customer that had just bought a new 1987 Pontiac Grand Prix. She told me she had green liquid leaking from under the trunk. Sure enough she did have green fluid leaking from the trunk. Her husband had placed a gallon of antifreeze in the trunk with a loose cap. I found it and she had to get the trunk liner replaced as the antifreeze had saturated it. Great video!

I Love It! The owner didn't think to look in the back? So they don't know what's back there or what it looks like? Reminds me of one I had at the shop in the late 80's. I just got back from a service call. The shopleader says the truck quit working. So I check the underhood fluids, and go for a road test. Truck is a 1981 Chevy C10 6 cylinder automatic and it runs like a dream! Won't stall, good power, no noises, no dash lights. Come back ready to turn loose, N.P.F. Shop leader describes what I did and N.P.F. She says, "I know the truck runs good, it's the "WINKIE" that quit." The turn signal was bad. You know, "The Winkie!" Good find Ivan. Comedy Relief during a day of diagnostics! Gotta love it!

23 years ago I took my brand new Hyundai Elantra back to the dealer because it started smoking. They said it was a trash bag that throughly melted to the exhaust and had to burn away. Since then I’ve seen it happen in real time to multiple drivers and my passengers always wonder why I go out of my way to avoid running over bags that blow around in the wind. It occasionally happens anyway so I always look to see if the bag is blowing around behind me. If not, I pull over immediately to check and, yes, I have caught it happening again (early enough to remove). I’m never going to a mechanic for a plastic bag again!

How many shops would have said, "Yep, these brakes are worn out and leaking dangerously. You were lucky to notice it before it failed and you got in a wreck. You need all new calipers and pads, and you might as well replace the rotors while we have it all apart. That will save you a lot of money on labor because we won't have to take everything apart again in a couple of thousand miles to change the weakened rotors which are covered with clearly visible scratches."

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the ole Subaru panel tranny output drive. I thought they phased those out after they got the fancy ones that screwed on to the front thing, they call it a motor or engine or something. I think Subaru was the only foreign domestic that had a PTO drive. 😆

Crazy how well gravity works. Reminds me of the 86 Volvo 240 that had a literal puddle of green fluid in the drivers rear floor. They were told the floor has a leak from the bottom. Further common sense checks showed a leaking heater control valve near the driver footwell.

Good morning Ivan! I know you are super busy so I will keep this question as basic as I can. I have a 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5 gas. Once a year typically around September or October I get a money light for P2423 HC Adsorption catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1. I live in Pittsburgh so I wonder if change season with temperature is related? I clear code and it’s gone until the following fall. No other codes and no drivability issues. Nissan has a Service Bulletin BTB20-020 for this exact issue and says replace the downstream cat and flex pipe tube. They may not cover this since years ago I already changed downstream cat with EPA walker. I replaced under warranty the EPA walker once for same code a couple of years ago. Is it possible I need to install a CARB certified Cat since this car has California emissions from the factory? The computer may be sensitive to it not being a CARB cat. Freeze Fram data only showed it went open loop during 40mph cruise and 183 coolant temp. 17% TP short 3% long 0% FT. Everyone else looked normal. Upstream cat still original with 115,000 miles. Thanks
@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics
@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics Жыл бұрын
Probably due to the change summer blend to winter blend gas 🤔
@BlazerGuy1983
@BlazerGuy1983 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I didn’t consider that. It could be the change in fuel blend since it’s always in Sept or October it happens. I ordered a carb certified direct fit from rockauto. It was $314 shipped. I saw a KZbin video where someone had much better readings from the CARB cat vs the federal new one. It passes pa emissions every year. I guess I should just drive it and it worry about it! Haha😂 You and Eric O. should do a collaboration again! I met ya both at the ETCG 2016 meetup!
