Pink Drinks w Jillian Vose | Cocktail Limelight

This week we are joined by the award-winning bartender, Jillian Vose (formerly of Dead Rabbit, Death & Company, Clover Club, etc) and she walks us through 3 of her favorite cocktails that just happen to be pink.
TODAY'S RECIPES
LUCIEN GAUDIN
1/2oz | 15ml Dry Vermouth
1/2oz | 15ml Cointreau
1/2oz | 15ml Campari
1 1/2oz | 45ml London Dry Gin
METHOD: Stir
GLASSWARE: Nick & Nora
GARNISH: Discarded Lemon Twist
PENDENNIS CLUB
2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
1oz | 30ml Lime Juice
1/2oz | 15ml Rich Simple Syrup*
1/4oz | 7.5ml Apricot Liqueur
1/4oz | 7.5ml Peach Liqueur
2oz | 60ml London Dry Gin
METHOD: Stir
GLASSWARE: Nick & Nora
GARNISH: Optional Lemon Twist
PSYCHO KILLER
2 dashes Absinthe
1/2oz | 15ml Banana Liqueur
1/2oz | 15ml Crème de Cacao
3/4oz | 22.5ml Campari
2oz | 60ml Irish Whiskey
METHOD: Stir
GLASSWARE: Nick & Nora
GARNISH: No Garnish
*(2 parts Sugar to 1 part water)

Psycho Killer is one of my favorite drinks and Jillian one of my favorite people. She's treated my my wife and I to some of the best cocktail nights of our lives at the Dead Rabbit. Glad to know her and can't wait to visit her and Sean's new place Hazel and Apple coming soon to Charleston.

Funny thing about that Mayhem and Mixology book is it just is so different from any other cocktail book I own. The Dead Rabbit 🐇 way of making drinks is different from other bars. So many things mixed together in small portions and combinations I would have never thought of. It can be a bit daunting but I keep it on my nightstand just incase I need inspiration. The comic book aspect is cool too. Trying to pick up all the people referenced in the drawing is a fun challenge.

A lot of that drink rides on the orgeat and apricot liqueur. But since you used the word "perfume" which is often used to describe gin, it makes me wonder what brand of gin you used. A classic London Dry would generally work best in this drink, but something too "innovative" in aesthetic might not work. Can you share what ingredients you used?

Erick I think the world of Jillian Vose! What a fabulous guest. I can't wait to visit her new bar for some spectacular cocktails!! I adore the cocktails that Jillian had made here and wow does the Lucien Gaudin sound fabulous! The Pendennis Club and the Psycho Killer are huge favourites! A juniper forward gin like the lovely "junipery" Tanqueray is so delicious and in a cocktail like the Lucien Gaudin it sounds like it's the perfect choice!! The psycho killer is outstanding!!
