I bought this in the late 70s, and I was really disappointed. I had most of their other albums, and loved them, but this just didn't work for me. But then a decade or so ago, I found it at a flea market and bought it because it was cheap, and I found I had a whole new appreciation for it. I wore that CD out.

This is my favourite Pink Floyd album. I've always loved it and loved this song. I could listen to it laying in bed with my headphone and trying to pay attention to every single note and melodies... I bought that album, which was my first Pink Floyd album, when I was 11 yo. I'm now 42. I've never seen the band together live but I've seen David Gilmour in France (Orange Theatre) and Roger Waters (Aviva Stadium in Dublin). Simply put I've been a Pink Floyd fan for +31 years now and will be for the rest of my life. Love you all !

I absolutely love every track, Pink Floyd made! I always remember, before the internet days, searching for any new stuff they had made. The first album I ever heard was Dark Side of the Moon, which my dad bought when I was a young kid. I think they are extremely clever with the notes they use, harmonies and how they affect the listener. I never got to see them live because I could never afford too, but I am pleased that I have supported them over the years by buying all their albums 🙂

Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast IS a perfect example of how Pink Floyd stood head and shoulders (and yes I know washing your hair comes AFTER breakfast) above most 'prog rock' bands. The Floyd had substance not just egotistical songs created to out do the others. Pink Floyd shows us the beauty of the simple things in life. In that sense, they inherited a musical vision of the world from Syd. The last few minutes are both a grand and simplistic JOY of life. You can get 'high' with Pink Floyd off the magic of LIFE and MUSIC. So, enjoy your breakfast because the day is beautiful and the world is ALL YOUR'S. And, there's a happy ending waiting for you.

@davidaston5773
@davidaston5773 Жыл бұрын
I agree with you@@Cap683. It's like the Doors or Jefferson Airplane being called Psychedelic or The Band being called 'Dylans backing group. All of these may be truthful to a point but also missing the bigger picture of the group's musical history, influences and what they created together. David
@radioguy1667
@radioguy1667 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. That’s the thing that sets them apart. They were so incredibly relatable when all other prog bands were off in huge vast worlds with complex, mythological stories (not that there’s anything wrong with that). But Pink Floyd were more about what it’s like to be a human and were more grounded in their approach.
@davidaston5773
@davidaston5773 Жыл бұрын
I LOVE your reply@@radioguy1667. I enjoy getting replies from people who are on the same wave length or can expand on what I said. Like what Pink Floyd intended with their music. There's nothing wrong with fantasy or epic visions of our and other words - but, it a way it kind of disconnects with the audience (but each are special too). I suppose Pink Floyd were the musical version of sitting down, listening to music and writing down how your felt in a journal? (which I do every day). Whether you're sitting in an English garden, a French flat or a African valley riding on your bike listening to Pink Floyd - it's universal language (as is music itself). Their music is deep but always a song which every listener makes their own. And there is no WALL between any of us with Pink Floyd. Peace and much love, David
