This was one of the 1st. 4 albums I had my parents buy for Christmas. They thought I was nutz. Then my father, a classical nerd, finally figured out just how talented these English lads are. 50 years later I still listen once ever couple of months.

Hah! Yep! Adam Hart Mother was my third album I ever bought. My first was Dark Side of the Moon, and I bought Adam Heart Mother at the same time! I really loved Dark Side of the Moon and hit the record store to get it, saw This one and got it too! That was in like 78' or 79' I think. I also bought Kiss Destroyer at the same time! lol

One of the first Pink Floyd songs I heard surprisingly. At first I didn't pay much attention to it, except that it was over 20min long. As a matter of fact, I think this was the first 10min+ song I was introduced too. Fascinated with this unique yet beautiful music, I dove in further to what was to become my favorite band of all time. A true gem in their discography!

It was my real first experience with Pink Floyd long time ago, when I was 14. A friend neighbor was kind enough to lend the cassette tape, and I've listened in my sound system as if there was no tomorrow. Little I knew how much influential it became to me with the years passing, in my decision to become a composer of instrumental music. I'm very thankful for the existence of this record. It has inspired me to become what I am now.

I was born twenty years before this album. Of course I watched/listened to a plethora of music genres of many countries and been exposed to several instances of what people would say "is the best band in the world" about then current music. To me Pink Floyd came along and blew them all out of the water, replacing the top groups with ground breaking talent, and stealing the title. Of course I realize not everyone shares my opinion and some even dislike the music, but to each his own. Our differences are what makes this world interesting.

Back in 2007, I wrote to Ron Geesin to say how much I like the piece and that it's one of my favourites, especially the cello part, which although Ron didn't play, he clearly wrote.

My man, check it l out. Start with Piper and journey through Syd's breakdown actually captured on Vinyl on SOS to the More soundtrack to Umma, then you're done cos I'm sure you know Meddle. Obscured by Clouds is another you may not have heard, which is the true precursor to WYWH not Dark Side. The themes on OBC are post DSOTM and defo lead into the themes on Wish. Also, there's a rareish live song called Embryo, which is transcendent, also quite atomy in a way, just get a crystal enough version, Montreux 71 or Paris theater 71 maybe. Enjoy.
