You have stumbled upon the greatest group of musicians, playing the best music you will ever hear. Please do yourself a huge favor and continue the life changing experience that is Pink Floyd. Their concert in 1994 for the release of the album "The Division Bell" is known as the "Pulse" concert, and is what you saw for Comfortably Numb. You will enjoy anything and everything from Pulse, but check out High Hopes, Coming Back to Life, Learning to Fly, Sorrow, Wish You Were Here, Shine on You Crazy Diamond, and Run Like Hell to start!

Pink floyd is a rarity in that they are even better live than on the studio version . I was at this concert in 94 , and at the end I was crying knowing that I would never see another concert like this again . A truly out of this world experience .

Same, kinda. I saw this tour here in the States and I began to get teary eyed when I realized they were playing DSOTM in its entirety. DSOTM was my intro to PF back in 1973 when I was just 9. I never thought I'd ever get to see it performed....until this tour.

I saw Pink Floyd on this tour in 94, as well as a few other times. The music is a life altering experience. Being there live can’t be compared to anything else.

Great reaction!! Just remember to never, ever, ever pause during a David Gilmour guitar solo!! It's sacrilege!! Let the dive down the rabbit hole commence! This was probably the greatest live show of all time! You could start with the opener: Shine on You crazy Diamond and work your way through till the final encore, Run Like Hell. Every single song is a breathtaking performance! The whole show is available on youtube. The Dark Side of the Moon is performed in it's entirety, it's a concept album so there are no breaks between individual tracks and the transitions are subliminal! You may need to react in two parts, ending with The Great Gig in the Sky and the 2nd reaction beginning with Money.... Enjoy!

The PULSE Concert was a LEGENDARY show. It actually turned out to be the band's final tour, in support of “The Division Bell”, their final studio album. (They released one more studio album, some 20 years later, but it was mostly out-takes and un-used material from other albums. Not really the same.) They recorded 16 nights at Earl’s Court, in London, and crafted the PULSE recording from the best of those two weeks (so named because the original CD release had a red LED in the spine which flashed, or 'pulsed’.) Pink Floyd were musical perfectionists, so the audio from this show is immaculate. As for the light show, well……you saw it. The whole night was like this. You can watch anything from this concert and trust that it will be AMAZING, with visuals that will knock your viewers’ socks off. It was one of the very first computerized light shows, and because in 1994, no one had any idea what a computer WAS, never mind what you could do with one, the performance was literally INDESCRIBABLE to anyone who wasn’t there, because there was nothing else to compare it to. Years later, when the DVD was released, you could at least put it on, and tell people, “THAT. THAT'S what it was like to be there!” I saw this concert with 65,000 friends, and it was mindblowing. The concert was actually BETTER than it looks on video. The Floyd put speakers around the venue perimeter, so sound could come at you from anywhere, and as you see, the performance was not limited to just the stage ~ you felt like it was an Experience, and you were inside that experience. You can choose to react to “Wish You Were Here”, a poignant conversation with the memory of a former band-mate, Syd Barrett, whom they had to fire after 3 albums because of his LSD use and mental health issues. Or “Time”, about living and dying in 3/4 time. Or “Run Like Hell”, “Another Brick In The Wall (part 2)”, “Money”, pretty much anything you want from PULSE. They’re all impressive. My personal favorite for showing you what it was like to be in the audience that night is “One Of These Days”. Pink Floyd brought their own reality, and for three hours, they let us visit them there.
@KatetheGreat05213 күн бұрын
WOW- I had no idea it was their final tour! Before you said "It was one of the very first computerized light shows" I was thinking it must have been one of the first. To be there and experience that for the first time must have been next level! Just like you said- it must have been indescribable because the words wouldn't have even existed! I believe you that it was better in person- it always is! Just the energy from the crowd would have been mind boggling. There's a word in the Maori language that describes an indescribable- almost transcendent- experience you get from watching a performance. Your description reminds me of that (although I can't think of the word and google isn't helping to jog my memory lol). Thanks for the suggestions- I really appreciate it!

Wonderful réaction to probably the greatest guitar solo by one of the greatest bands ever to play live. That performance (which I was at) is 30 years old but the music is timeless. I am 75 now and been a Floyd fan since 1966 and still get goose bumps listening to all their music. The whole 1994 Pulse concert is incredible, great musicians and arrangements, flawless surround sound system and breathtaking visuals. If you have to pick out a couple of numbers try High Hopes, Sorrow, One of these days, Learning to fly and an epic finale Run like Hell. But their whole album catalogue awaits you. Welcome to the emotional world of Pink Floyd. My regret was that that was the last time I saw them live, they basically stopped recording and touring after the death of keyboard player Richard Wright in 2008. Dave Gilmour (guitar) has toured several times (the last ending in New York, last week aged 78). Nick Mason (drummer) has also toured playing early Floyd classics. Bassist at Pulse, Guy Pratt plays for both bands. Check out Dave Gilmour's latest tour videos. Good luck and future listening of the great Pink Floyd.

I was at that concert (three rows from the front, almost centre stage) and this was the 2nd encore. By the time they got to this, they had been playing for just over 2 hours. And if THAT solo had been an hour long. NOBODY there would have minded - or cared. And well done for not pausing the solo - so many others do and are rightly castigated for it. Also, the original edit is much better than this re-edited version (though the audio is the same [almost]) This version slightly edits the solo - you can tell by how fast that circular screen is levelled above them.

Watch the full uncut version of it. It's incredible. You don't know what your missing. Another song you must watch is On the Turning Away from the 1988 concert at the Nassau Coliseum in New York. I promise you it will blow your mind. Pink Floyd are the greatest ever formed and David Gilmour is by far the best guitarist 🎸 on the planet. I can give you many songs to listen to.
