Sixty-five here. I had a near mystical experience with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. A group of us were sitting on the beach in California waiting to catch a midnight movie at a local theater (the Strand Theatre, Ocean Beach). We were listening to the car stereo blast Dark Side of the Moon. Then, like magic, I experience my first and only grunion run. I didn't know if it was real or if the music and weed were just that good. Thousands of little silver fish were flopping around on the beach with Pink Floyd playing in the background. It was surreal. After that, the movie was a little anti-climactic.

Someone once said the genius of David Gilmour is his ability to play the notes you didn't know you needed to hear until you hear him play them. I agree completely. And it's very odd: he somehow manages to make each note sound both fresh and inevitable at the same time. That's musicianship of a very high order indeed. Rare.

You don't listen to Gilmour's guitar playing, you live it, you breathe it, and it reaches the soul, not the ears. Its perfection. I was there too. Even outside the venue, you knew from miles away that there was a Pink Floyd Concert on. The powerful spotlights sweeping the clouds. There were the performers going up and down the lines of people - big burly guys in Dr.Marten Boots and pink tutus striking ballerina poses. Guys on wheeled stilts blowing whistles at people. I'll never forget that night.

Saw this one live in Ohio Stadium right before graduating from OSU. Absolutely epic. This song makes me emotional every time, same with Time, Shine On.....absolute brilliance.

When you’re there… your body reverberates and you’re exhausted from the power of the performance. We were all staggering out-not from a buzz- but the intensity. We hardly said a thing to one another on the ride home-literally speechless!

Same. Completely blown away.

When that second Gilmour solo begins, all of rock music gets quiet to listen. Greatness flowed from David that day.

My favorite Pink Floyd song! Also might be my favorite guitar solo ever!

Absolutely love seeing a young gal so excited with the music i was so fortunate to have been exposed to in my life back in the day. Their music transcends the soul into other realms. I was so fortunate to have seen The Floyd in 1975 in Pittsburgh’s 3 rivers Stadium. They began with entire Wish you were here lp just released. Then Dark side of the moon and encore with ECHO ES. Best experience bare none in my live rock history. And i went to over 100 shows. I am 67 and i love seeing your emotional reactions because the non verbals say so much. My suggestion is ECHOES from pompeii in early 70’s. Phenomenal performance no audience they just play in pompeii arenafrom back in biblical times talk about tripping its very moving. Oh and in Pittsburgh i was tripping on acid.

Please do "Echoes" live at Pompeii, 1971, when they were young. All the songs from the Pulse show are amazing. You might also think about doing their album "Dark Side of the Moon" in two reactions, side 1 and side 2. Same for their album "Wish You Were Here." Another great performance is "On the Turning Away" live in 1988. Great reaction and thank you for not pausing during David's guitar solo!

David makes it look effortless! I think every aspiring guitar player has played this, or attempted to. Its iconic. As I said in a previous reply I saw the Pulse concert in the 1990s, 1st concert I ever went to see totally sober and they blew me away.

I was in the crowd! Not that recorded show - but I saw them live on that tour in 94 in Oakland, CA. The most magical performance i've ever witnessed. The closest i ever had to a religious experience. Will never forget it. Just epic greatness to experience. The greatest guitar solo ever played. Some more from Pulse: "Great Gig In the Sky" - this is a artistic adaptation of grieving anguish; initially conceived as an anti-war sentiment. "Run Like Hell" "Young Lust" "Wish You Were Here" "Hey You" "Sorrow"

It's ok, I cried for you, as I do every time I see this performance ... and I've seen it a LOT !!! EPIC concert, and an EPIC reaction to it. I just KNEW you were about to cry, and I'm pretty sure, every single place too.

'Rihanna's Super Bowl performance was legendary!' Gimme a fucking break! These guys did this every night for a full tour, one of the shows which I saw in D.C. Incredible.

I saw this exact same concert at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami Beach Florida in 1994, it absolutely was the most incredible concert I've ever seen in my life I've seen many many concerts but nothing compares to Pink Floyd especially with all their lasers and David gilmour's Talent at playing the guitar
@thatsrich944 Жыл бұрын
I actually just finished watching the entire concert... again. Then your video came up in the suggestions. If you get a chance, watch the whole thing. I got to see them in 1988 as a 14yo budding drummer and singer. Still hands down the best live performance I have ever seen out of hundreds of shows. Cheers!
