The big disco ball is highly symbolic. First of all, it wasn't seen until the lights spotted it. It was simply not there. It was hidden in a box in the ceilling. So when it got lit, you can understand why the audience went wild. When it opens up and show the shining diamond that's inside, a direct reference to Shine On Your Crazy Diamond (which refer to Syd Barrett), the fans understands!

Hi! I would like to share my personal experience with you. I was present on that particular day, even though I was quite young. After the concert, we strolled in silence, reflecting on the phenomenal performance, looking at the stage sometimes, just to remember this moment forever before we left for good. I also recall the scent of joints, particularly near the stage (yes, it was prohibited, but… it’s Pink Floyd, isn’t it? Some fans couldn’t help themselves!). Now, whenever I listen to this guitar solo, I’m reminded of how the sound enveloped us: it was awe-inspiring, immense, massive, imposing, powerful, yet impeccably clear! It was incredibly striking and overwhelming. It felt as if the grand, gigantic, potent, and majestic Pink Floyd machine was directly linked to our souls! And I can assure you, we were all resonating. Most of the time, during a concert, people are engaged in conversations, laughter, and enjoying themselves; but during this concert, everyone was utterly captivated. There were no disruptive or bothersome individuals. Everyone was simply "in sync". It was as if we were in an alternate universe where everything was utterly distinct. It was an extraordinary, surreal, and unique experience, almost "magical", so to speak. And the crowd was massive, with around 16,300 attendees. I’ve held onto the tickets, by the way, hehe - And to this day, I take pride in declaring, _"I WAS THERE, WITH PINK FLOYD THAT DAY!"_

I was in the hospital and was having a heart attack. The Rapid Response team tried glycercine spray and just about had the paddles ready when they gave me a doze of morphine intraveonously. and that cease the cardiac issue and knocked and knocked me out. Apparently as I was waking up, I was singing "Comfortably Numb".

A reporter once asked Eric Clapton what it was like to be the best guitarist in the world and he said you best ask David Gilmore.
@GREENBEANJETSFAN

Such a great statement. With hearing Clapton trying to be the lead on waters’ pros and cons of hitchhiking, you can hear how outmatched he is compared to Gilmore. Taking nothing from Clapton, but trying to capture the emotion needed to express Rogers’ ideas is no easy task. Gilmore reigns supreme in the emotional expression category with that instrument and it’s not even close.

Background singers are there to sing the parts that he overdubbed for the album like the Beatles used to do. The difference is the Beatles didn't have the technology to reproduce this live. David Gilmour said The Beatles, greatest band of all time. They were recording at Abbey Road at the same time as the Beatles and sat in on Sergeant Pepper, didn't play but influenced

I couldn't afford to go to the Earl's Court Pulse concert, so I stood in awe in Battersea Park and watched the laser show light up the Misty northern sky. It was close enough to hear the music drifting over to me on the South side of the River Thames. It was a special moment in the history of music and I was overjoyed when I got myself a copy of the live album later.

I got an A+ in college from this song. I was in child development class and our final hinged in tying drug abuse in youngsters to current life. This was around 1983. My roommate had the album, so I wrote down all the words to this. Made copies. Recorded this. I gave my presentation in class, then passed out the copies of words so everyone could follow along. Including my teacher. Then I played this song, and explained lyrics. At end, EVERYONE was silent and in a daze. I simply said. " We all just took a drug trip, but without the drugs tonight." The teacher looked at me and said, " You get am A+ for your final! I've NEVER seen or heard a presentation like this" Needless to say. Comfortably Numb is my favorite Pink Floyd song.

My favorite part is what every reviewer does after watching this for the first time or even after: they just sit there and stare for a minute, which is the exact same thing I do when watching. You didn't just witness a song being played, you went through an experience that leaves you transfixed for a moment. One thumb half way down for the 4th of July comment, as it was a little tasteless and better left unsaid, but two thumbs up for everything else you guys do on all the reviews I have watched. Enjoyed your faces watching him shred that solo.

I saw this concert twice, on May 23 and 24, 1994, Montreal Olympic Stadium. My employer (Labatt Breweries of Canada) was the sponsor for the three shows in Montreal, they were offering employees discounted tickets, in addition to a draw of a few dozen tickets. I bought mine for May 23 and I won those (a pair) for May 24. Some people have asked me, "Why are you going to see this show twice?" When they finally saw the DVD of this show a few years later, they understood why I was there twice.

I saw that concert in Montpellier in France and that was the best concert I had ever seen. Everything was awesome : the lights, the crazy things happening for each song, but the most important, the sound. They had found the best sound engeneers ever. The concert was outside in Montpellier, in campaign, a huge field. As there was no first part, they had to wait for dark night to begin, in July. While we were waiting, sat on the grass, we could hear sounds of campaign, bees, birds, rivers, village bells... That evening was magical ! Thanks a lot for this gift... I follow you for a moment, I love your reactions, you're so nice... I was waiting for this reaction and you projected to do it for Christmas, as a gift, that's one for me because, once again, and especially that one, you were amazing. Yes, this solo is crazy, David Gilmour is a story teller with his guitar, not only a performer. I saw another video of this concert song but in another place, the solo is not the same, except at the beginning for the studio version covered. Thanks again, guys, for this beautiful and touching moment. Love from France 🇫🇷😘💖.

I had the chance to see Pink Floyd live in 1994 in Montreal, during "The Division Bell Tour", better known as "Pulse Concert". I was there and it was one hell of a concert. I had to go to the toilet for a pee during one of the songs. Thankfully it was empty. I started to relieve myself when an elderly guy stood next to me. I glanced to my left and it was no other than George Martin. While we were washing our hands I asked him if he was enjoying the show. He said "yes, they are very good". He said goodbye and left.

I was at one of the pulse concerts in Indianapolis Indiana. One of my friends was friends with David Gilmore. We are from Kentucky. She actually coordinated their hotel stays when they were touring. David Gilmore loved Kentucky and our moonshine. Once they were on tour they would send her 6 tickets and 2 backstage passes. They knew she would bring them a pint of moonshine. They didn't get sloppy drunk but they did enjoy sipping. Because of her I was able to see them 4 times live and I got to meet them once.

1st time I saw this performance I was just like y’all, wowed. After hundreds of views now, it has become an outlet for any emotions I have kept pent up inside. They pour out, uncontrollably, because I think I have listened to it enough now, and lived long enough now, to understand what Gilmour’s impossible mega-bends and siren call riffs are expressing. How do you truly describe a lack of feeling with words? You can’t. But thankfully Gilmour speaks through his guitar in ways words could not accomplish.

That was the first real concert I went to. 1994 CNE in Toronto. They are absolutely my favorite ever...Gilmour the absolute best!! When I tell people I went, I never say I went to thier concert...I always say it's an experience. I have watched this a million times. It's life changing every time. Little tid bit...I am 51 sooo...when cd's were cool. I remember standing in line waiting for the double CD to come out. I am in Canada so it was Sam The Record Man store. They had piles of these covering the widows as a display and other than the doors you couldn't see in cause there were so many. It was a double set that came in a nice book and jacket...then it inserted into a book sleeve...very nice. But the badass cool thing was they all had a pulsing red light built into the binding. I mean that's original. No excitement like that with digital age. I wish I would have bought a bunch cause it was original press. I bet that light flashed for 3 years. Good you boys appreciate 🍻

Not just simply a British band, but the greatest Rock band in all of existence. My absolute #1 favorite. I saw Pink Floyd in the Summer of 1994 on the *Division Bell* tour (from which the *Pulse* album the following year was made) at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford NJ. Hands-down the greatest concert I've ever been to. Up till then, Pink Floyd had always been one of my 5 favorite bands of all-time but that concert proved that they were the absolute best and always will be. They became my #1 favorite band of all-time and are still that now, nearly 30 full years since that amazing show. I ❤ Pink Floyd.

@@christopherone1he said greatest, not most difficult. I know probably thousands of solos, and yes, there are many more technically impressive solos, but this is the one that makes me cry. Every. Damn. Time.

I was at this concert.. I saw them in Indianapolis when they did the Pulse tour. It was exactly like what you just saw in the video. It was beautiful and it was the best concert I have ever been to. Pink Floyd is a whole journey to take. Start with their first album back in the 60's and work your way up.

This was part of the encore. It started with "Wish You Were Here", which fed straight in to "Comfortably Numb", and finally "Run Like Hell" to wrap up the show. If you thought the lights were good in Comfortably Numb, wait into you've seen "Run Like Hell". This was a ground breaking show. PF liked what Marc Brickman had done as an assistant lighting director at a previous gig when he stepped in to resolve a problem, and asked him to design the lighting for the Pulse Tour. When he asked about the budget, he was told there wasn't one, just see what you can come up with, and this is what happens when you give a talented lighting designer a brief with no budgetary constraints. The show used a new experimental laser, and they had the whole world's entire supply, with no spares. The band went to extraordinary lengths to get superb sound quality at high volume. I'm told your whole rib cage resonated with the base, but with no hint of distortion. That's what you get from a 220,000 watt surround sound system. They had 3 rigs. One in use, one being dismantled from the previous venue, and another being assembled at the next one. That was too big a drain on the local electricity supply grid, so they had 4 industrial generators running behind the show venue. Altogether they had 700 tons of gear on 33 huge trucks. Everyone left in silence, unable to comprehend what they had just experienced. If they ever invent time travel, that's the first gig I'm going back to experience!

Was at Earl's Court in '94 and would gladly sell my soul to see it once again, a friend went 4 nights in a row, slept rough to save money for the tickets ( he also hitched from Central Scotland to Berlin for the Wall concert) .

One of the GREATEST songs written and performed, of all time. Pink Floyd takes you on a trip and then, brings you home, only to want another trip.

I too was at that performance, age 25, I was on the bottom left parallel with the control booth and glitter ball, whole concert blew me and my partner away. Have since had the chance to see Roger on the ' Us and Them ' tour a few years ago, it wasn't a patch on Earl's Court.

Glad to see people discovering the music of my younger years. I have seen Floyd like 8 or 9 times, 3 times on this tour alone (although not at this particular show). I dont think any other band immerses you in the experience like Floyd. There is obviously the stage, but they have things going on behind you, above, all around you. Floating pigs, a plane that flies across and crashes. Add the lighting, the volume, the energy of the place, it really is life changing. I really feel sad that you guys, well all of us, will never get to be apart of something like this ever again. I am glad we have these recordings at least. I wish there were more from the older days.

I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
