When you see numbers in parenthesis, i.e. (5), it usually means that they are tied notes. Tied notes are held (sustained) from the note in the previous measure. If the note is in parenthesis, without a tie in the notation, then it means that it is a ghost note. Check the link that I posted for my bass tab of 'Sheep.' Thanks for checking out my videos!

@@manueljordan317 I will consider making a video like this in the future, but for right now, my mission is to learn the bass to the best of my abilities and share the songs that I am studying. There are many videos explaining how to read tablature, but there are not many (if any) duplicates of the songs that I choose to transcribe. This is all a labor of love. Thank you for your feedback.
