While I agree that Mason's drumming is awesome in the old Pompei version, anyone who doubts that Echoes is at it's core a duet between Gilmour's guitar & Wright's keyboards should listen to the Gdansk version (40+ years later). The obvious respect & chemistry between them is amazing. I have to admit... the final 4 minutes brought tears to my eyes.

What I can`t believe is, Live at Pompeii was done in1972, it`s a really psychedelic masterpiece (I actually thought it was done in the 60`s, but no) …… and then, 12 months later, the polished, innovative, Dark side of the moon, the difference between the two is astounding and in the space of a year!

this is my favourite PF song. i prefer the first half of this version, and the drumming, in general, but my favourite version of the second half is the live at Gdansk one. the concert was in 2008, so it was a Gilmour concert, but he was supported by Richard Wright on the keyboards. it was the last time that Richard performed in public, before his death in 2009. i haven't seen anyone react to this version, yet. if you want to hear the song that David composed in Richard's memory, he sang it live at Pompeii, when he returned there to perform to an audience in 2016. it's called 'A Boat Lies Waiting'.

Okay, here's something for you. You saw Nick Mason flip his drumstick to himself in the first part of this song. Now watch closely the song 'One of These Days' from the same movie as this (Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii), and see how Nick Mason reacts when he ACCIDENTLY loses a drumstick! I think you will be amazed! By the way, I have a copy of this movie on dvd, and when they filmed this, there were kids that they allowed to sit up those exit tunnels, as long as they stayed out of camera! Lucky kids!

And here I am... the coming DAWN hahaha. This really should be listened in some level of stoned. Dudes, the sad reality is that by the time you react to all the hit songs 60's and 70's bands that you haven't done yet, like, Grand Funk Railroad, Jefferson Airplane, The Yardbirds, The Turtles, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, The Beach Boys, Van Morrison, The Doors, Procul Harem, Ted Nugent, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Lovin Spoonful, The Hollies, Uriah Heep, Buffalo Springfield, The Grateful Dead, Steppenwolf, Alice Cooper, Frank Zappa, Quicksilver Messenger Service, ELO, 10CC, Moody Blues, Cream, The Mammas and the Papas, Three Dog Night, plus twice as many super Motown artist, and this is literally just some of the bands from the sixties (I might have a few from the seventies listed). Sorry for the many that I didn't list, but there are just so many that I remember listening to growing up, plus the bands that you have reacted to already. Triple that amount or maybe more for the seventies, and you guys will be on social security by the time you react to all the absolutely best songs of all these 2 decades, but I will be here with you for the ride! You guys are doing the real rock classics justice with your reactions. ROCK ON BRO NATION!!!

I need new words to describe PF. Brilliant, masterpiece, perfection, genius-I use these words every time when talking about PF but they somehow don't seem adequate to explain the gift they blessed us with. I will also suggest Animals again. As with the majority of their albums, it should be listened to in its entirety at one time, but I also understand that doesn't necessarily work for your channel. Still, knowing how much you guys appreciate the genius of PF, I must continue to recommend Animals.

Aaaah so beautiful I love to get lost and found in this song. ✨ I agree with the others that the Gdańsk version is stunning & also sad knowing it’s the last, the ending gets me every time. The early Floyd “Wot’s... Uh the Deal” is also exquisite and “Obscured by Clouds” is so moody and stunning I just wish it was as long as Echoes to enjoy it even more 😆 If you’d like to try some David Gilmour tracks his recent “Yes, I Have Ghosts” is so beautiful, I play it often along with Smile & Stay.

👍 you guys are awesome, Everyone’s already reacted to all the “Main Stream stuff”.... I think you guys should try something new 😏.... so my picks for you are “The Blue” from Live at Pompei & Anisina from Pink Floyd’s last album ever “The Endless River” both have spectacular guitar work & musical passages, if you want to hear a painting being drawn from music both these songs are amazing & brings you back to the “ROOT” of Pink Floyd music 👍 NOONE can re-create Pink Floyd music better than David Gilmours, not even roger waters comes close on his re-creations of Pink Floyd music, it sounds like there’s something missing 🤷♂️ & I consider Davids re-creations of Pink Floyd’s music in Live arenas better than the originals, his expansion on the music is something only Gilmour can do correctly & you guys should check out a lot of Gilmours latest work 😎
