The reason people are asking you to do the pulse version is so you can see David Gilmour playing the pedal steel guitar not a regular guitar at the end of the song. Plus the stage production is beyond belief!!! Of course anything at that Pulse concert is amazing!! That really is the version you should have done.

Yes. I feel that "official videos" are just distracting.

A couple of prior comments have touched on the overall theme of this song - the video contains numerous references (especially the giant bas-relief) to fallen, but certainly not forgotten, original founding member Syd Barrett. This is the final track on their final full studio album (The endless river doesn't really count, since it primarily consisted of music written and composed by Rick Wright for this album, and released after his passing.) A perfect ending to an incredible stretch as a band which many consider the overall best ever. An earlier amazing album, "Wish You Were Here" was basically a paean to Barrett, and what he still meant to the surviving members. Thank you for putting this out.

Aging band looks to the past and contemplates, with some trepidation, their future: "Encumbered forever by desire and ambition There's a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road we've been so many times" The live Pulse version of this is pretty great.

Oh how I love this song. This is just so lovely❤️. Who else knows that the Finnish metal band Nightwish made a tribute to this song? Not a cover but a tribute and in fact Marko Hietala who sings in this video is a big Pink Floyd fan. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIm3nptum6iSiLMsi=wJc-HPfAW89WU-M8

The video looks to me like a surrealist telling of the story of the band, but in images and the impressions they evoke rather than a straight narrative. This style also enables them to convey the underlying theme, which to me is the eagerness as children and young adults to push forward to the future that in our minds promises to be glorious. But in older adulthood, we look back and realize we’ve lost our wonder and a lot of our joy along the way. Some of us have achieved our goals, but we’re now weary and jaded and trying not to wish we could go back. That’s my impression, not sure if I got what they were going for, but this is what I feel when I see this video.

Some should have told you that Pink Floyd sounds better live. Pulse, live at Gdansk, live at Pompeii. Dave inside Abbey Road. all but Pilse Dave has a solo on his DB Martin.acoustic guitar. Personally there is very few videos that don't have anything to do with the song. Exception " On the turning Away"FM( 1989-07-15)FM by think Floyd61. with 10 million views **************
