Pink Floyd - Knebworth 1990 - "Sorrow"

From the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Benefit Concert broadcast on BBC. This track didn't make it to the DVD release. There are a few versions out there but they are mostly a bit rough. A bit of a clean-up and audio replaced with the stereo FM broadcast version and it came up quite well.

I am big Pink Floyd fan and had a honour to be on their Gelsenkirchen 1994 Koncert,it was unbelievable , the speakers was around a Stadium and when they started a first few notes of ``One of this days`` they bounced around you. I`ll never forget it that awsome SOUND. Thank You Pink Floyd !

This was the first time I saw Pink Floyd on tv, and the first time I really got into them. Staging, lighting, smoke, wind and the rain all combined perfectly. Amazing guitar tone and this tv edit shows Gary Wallis' percussion and drumming which they cut out of the remixed recent version.

Not only did they edit his appearance down they also turned him down in the mix which is a real shame as he really makes Sorrow have that mechanical feel. Gilmours solo performances of Sorrow really lack that.

@greenfloyd9531 yeah I agree - was really disappointed when the remix came out. His percussion and then twin-drumming over the outro solo really built the song

David Gilmore One of thee Greatest Guitar Players That You Never Here Mentioned. This guy can do a slow jam like few others!! If I had one regret during my twenties while in Germany it would be passing on the opportunity to see Pink Floyd during the Learning To Fly tour. If I had one musical wish it would be for Pink Floyd preferably with Waters to Do ONE MORE TOUR!! Since that is Unlikely to Happen I and all who have the same wish as me will have to take comfort in the Brilliant PULSE DVD

Ute H posted a few months back but with no option to reply - I believe this is a Google+ setting they can change. The comment was "aus dem Album `` Delicate Sound of Thunder '' von 1988" and "Sorrow" does appear on that album but I wanted to clarify that this performance is not that one. The original song appeared on "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" in 1987 with live performances from 1988 on "Delicate Sound of Thunder" (Nassau Coliseum, New York) and in 1995 on "Pulse" (Rome, 1994). This performance is from 1990 at Knebworth. Floyd headlined the benefit concert. There was a DVD and a CD release, neither of which featured this performance.

He's actually the only original member who has been in Floyd since it started in 1965. Percussionist Gary Wallis joined Floyd for their 1988 tour and has worked with them on and off ever since. His presence and unique style adds an extra element of showmanship as well as musical enhancement to their performances.

Kids, dont do drugs. I think this song is decent, great playing all around, sounds massive. Yet something is missing, this does not have the edge and sharpness Sir Roger brings to the table. Sorry all you Gilmour fanbois but that's how it is. You may not like the bloke or his views, but artistically, he's the man. I also like the fact that he could just enjoy his wealth and choose not to annoy anyone, but he speaks his mind. That's what's missing artists today. The most important thing is not to annoy anyone or smell bad cause that's offensive as well.
