Everyone says that about every band lol...I totally agree with you. I love Pink Floyd, but I read a comment that led Zeppelin msg show was the b at of all time. I had to call this person out on this since I'm not into zeppelin. Pink Floyd were better than zeppelin in every way.👍🏻🎸🇬🇧💯 Again mate, I agree this is Floyd's best.

I think what blows my mind the most about this spectacular performance is that this was made in an era before modern technology. Remember, this was the 1970s. There was no fancy computers or anything. This was all played, filmed, edited, and produced all by hand. I think that is a statement in itself.

@georgetebbens35242 жыл бұрын
...and at such a relatively young age -- early/mid-20s. It's nothing less than remarkable. It really is. I've been playing guitar for over 40 years. For these cats to display such genius at such an early stage in their lives speaks volumes to their innate talent. Yes, they had an advantage in being part of an emerging scene, but countless other musicians tried to break into that scene -- and floundered. The original genius of The Pink Floyd was Syd Barrett. No question about it. But Roger Waters' contributions were equally important in the formation of the band's signature sound in the early period. The addition of David Gilmour's astonishingly brilliant guitar playing propelled the band to heights unimaginable had he not joined the group. David Gilmour is arguably the best guitarist of his generation -- better than his contemporaries Jimi Hendrix or Jeff Beck, in my informed opinion. Don't even get me started on Nick Mason's drumming! Why he is seldom included in the list of all-time best rock drummers -- along with Keith Moon, Ginger Baker, Mitch Mitchell, and John Bonham -- irks me to no end. What a BAND was The Pink Floyd!
@mikearchibald7442 жыл бұрын
@@georgetebbens3524 I just listened to an interview, and for several YEARS before this they were playing gigs EVERY day. So that certainly helps explain it. Nothing is 'inherent' in their playing, its inspiration and incredibly hard work. The thing about floyd is that I don't think they can even be fairly compared to other players just because they were so tight. None of their notes are 'technically' difficult, its that thing you can't explain that makes them so great. They all talk about wanting to be right and famous, but then they play THIS? Like they thought 'hey, a twenty minute piece too long for the radio is sure to make us famous'. What i find interesting is that in interviews of before dark side, Dave talks about 'getting tired of that noodling around'. But then AFTER Dark Side he says he was worried about not enough focus on the music. So I can kind of understand Roger going "well which one is it....never mind, just play this". And I don't think Nick is anywhere near those greats, even he won't say that. Its the four together that really made it something, Nick was just hte perfect drummer for Floyd. Sometimes the stars collide like that.

Tout comme 'Ummagumma', autre oeuvre phare d'une époque épique qui libéra la musique marginale ou underground, vers des horizons, désormais intégrés à la 'noble musique' d'un temps résolument transgressé!
