This tour played to 5.5 million people in 68 cities; each concert gathered an average 45,000 audience. Three stages leapfrogged around North America and Europe, each 180 feet (55 m) long and featuring a 130-foot (40 m) arch resembling the Hollywood Bowl venue. All in all, the tour required 700 tons of steel carried by 53 articulated trucks, a crew of 161 people and an initial investment of US $ 4 million plus US $ 25 million of running costs just to stage.

the album "The Wall" tells the story of Pink. Pink is completely freaked out and out of his mind. Therefore, sounds try to demonstrate this sensation. pink is a kind of ego altar from Waters. your anxieties, fears. I bought this vinyl record in the early 1980s and I think I "wasted" it with the needle from listening to it so much an excellent song, sometimes forgotten. I saw Pink Floyd live at the Division Bell concert in Ames, Iowa, back in 1994. The line of cars to the stadium was never-ending, and it felt like we spent forever just trying to get close: literally, thousands and thousands of people attended the concert from all age groups. We eventually found a spot to park the car near the venue (first miracle, the second one at the end of this message), and by then, the party had already started. People were everywhere, smoking openly. To my surprise (and relief), the police decided to turn a blind eye (thank goodness). Inside, the stadium was decked out with massive inflatable pigs, The Wall hammers, and animated characters from the iconic movie. Unfortunately, most of the concert is a blur for me... let’s just say there were so many joints being passed around inside the concert that at some point, I forgot where I was. But wow, what an experience! The sound system was incredible-speakers perfectly placed to give this crystal-clear stereo sound, making you feel like you were literally inside the music. Now, here’s a side story: as we parked, I spotted a concert ticket lying face-up on the sidewalk. It was almost as the universe aligned, so I could save a Floyd head 30 minutes later. Suddenly, I had two tickets to Pink Floyd! And one for free. But I knew better, so I waited outside the stadium, holding on to that extra ticket until I found the rightful owner to give it back. But how would I find the person among thousands before the show. Just when I was ready to give up, I saw this guy-heartbroken, in tears, walking around like he'd just lost everything, as someone who just dropped his ticket to watch live PF. I went up to him and said, “Hey man, here’s your lost ticket!” I’ll never forget the look on his face-pure joy and disbelief. He hugged me for a while and thank me like forever, then walked into music heaven together. True story!
