While there are other decent stretched versions of this song in its entirety, I aim to select and stretch only sections of songs that will work well as full ambient tracks. In this case, the section is Part I of Shine on You Crazy Diamond (with a hint of Part II), avoiding drums and vocals, which tend to harshen the ambience. Enjoy!

The evolution of this kind of music was done long time ago and we're termed as UNDERGROUND MUSIC. PINK FLOYD were the first ones in 1960 / 70....started it which was slowly termed as trance, but I'm real sense is the music of cosmic element. Something tight creative.

So many emotions arise with this song. Pink Floyd has moved in a new direction to never see Syd again, yet they create a song about their former leader, and they do it in such a haunting and dreadful way. This song makes you wonder where Syd is at this moment, hidden in the dark shadows of his mind.

Yes, it's certainly a haunting, melancholic, and yet profound tribute to Barrett's genius. I think the opening overture of keyboards and guitar work perfectly express that mood. Ha... My apologies. My partner had the same traumatizing experience with the enigmatic face, but she's now fully recovered. Next time, you'll be ready for it. If you look closely (maybe too soon), you will see that it is a particular face (though filtered through effects) that has a special connection to the original song's concept and lyrics, and to my concept in this video. But yes, it's definitely a haunting image!

Of course, the intro to Shine On was already ambient, but this version deepens it. I have some Alan Parsons tracks in the works that are incredibly textured... Glad you enjoy!
