I recently watched the TV show Legion, which was bonkers and was about a comic book character who went/was/is slightly bonkers. One of the characters was called Syd Barrett. Great circular reference for those who know Pink Floyd .. 👍🏼

The rabbit is a metaphor for *us*. That was the full two songs. Most songs bleed seemlessly into one another for one long amazing listening experience. Digitally you're going to get some abrupt cutoffs listening to one track at a time as that's not how the album was laid out. It is a musical and Sonic feast for the ears meant to be consumed all at once. With that in mind, enjoy the trip.

This is the opening to the Darkside of the Moon album. The intro consists of parts and pieces that come later in the album. The “rabbit” is all of us who rush through life, digging hole after hole without stopping. The album is about the pressures of modern life.

This album starts out with a child being born and his mom or parent telling that child what his life is going to be like and it will be fast so do work when you can otherwise it will be too late- the multiple sounds in the first song or intro is a compilation of many of the sounds blended together from the songs in this album- the first 5 songs describe the life and death of a person and then the B side starts with the song Money with describes many of the worlds problems and then the last few songs bring up issues of war and insanity of leaders of this world - then the last song pretty much describes everything in a finale by reviewing all that has happened in your life- enjoy!

That beat you heard at the beginning, you will hear again when you do "Money" another great song. The sound is made by pouring loose coins into a vessel and an old style cash register. They are very innovative.

That's both songs, but the third verse to "Breathe" comes at the end of "Time" and it's called Breathe (Reprise). In that song which you did last week, those lyrics start "Home, Home again..."

Imagine the time it took to make the beat at beginning. This was before the time of digital recording. They had to literally splice tape together on a track to layer all of that. So amazing when you think of all the time that went into these tracks because they’re all so sonically layered.

Without knowing what the underlying theme of all of PINK FLOYD music is, you will never understand the meanings of the words or the songs. Many folks have no clue about the meaning of their songs... truly Mind-Blowing when you piece it all together. Watch THE WALL. The Movie. It will explain to you about the former band member Sid Barrett that lost his mind via the needle. Animals, Dark Side, Wish u Were Here... all about Sid Barrett and their way to tell his story by speaking to him in Musical terms. Asking him to abandon the world he created in his mind, and come back to reality. All the albums talk about the evil of Money and Lawyers, and how they prey on the innocent. (Pigs from Animals) PS: Must listen to Animals.... It is by far their best album from a true fan viewpoint. PS:PS: Pink Floyd's had hidden secret backwards messages on "The Wall Album" First pressing to win concert tickets to the first NY City Show. My friend got 2 which included a limo ride to NYC. Song was Young Lust right before the vocals start.

I forgot to mention that the song I just recommended, "One of These Days" is on a completely different album than "The Dark Side of the Moon" so ya probably wanna finish that album before moving on to other albums....But that is just a suggestion of course....

Yes this was both songs. Floyd often merged songs seamlessly from one track to another, hence the abrupt ending of Breathe. A note for when you get around to the last two tracks on the ablbum (Brain Damage & Eclipse), they definitely need to be listened to as one. A great reaction, thanks for doing Pink Floyd.

even if you don't do a video, you need to listen to the whole album all the way with no interruptions. all Pink Floyd should be listened to this way but especially Dark Side of the Moon

Can you turn down the music when you are giving your thoughts at the end it’s just way too loud to hear you comfortably!!! When these songs were written, the only way to record them was on vinyl which only lasted about 24:30secs. Pink Floyd thought it would be good to do a concept album where the songs ran together - and they do ON vinyl, not on digital recordings as the recording separates the song by just a millisecond to establish that it has changed to the next song. So it is better to listen to the vinyl in this regard, but better digitally if you don’t want all the cracks and pops that vinyl brings. Listen to the next three songs all in one go. Pink Floyd doesn’t block so don’t fear!

A suggestion, but with the truly heartfelt prayer to take it very seriously 🙏🙏🙏 Record the reactions to the last 2 songs of the first side of The Dark Side Of The Moon by "cutting" them from a single video of “your personal listening” to the entire Musical Construction conceived by the PF: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaS7n3h_pKqcac0 (audio quality is the best available on KZbin, plus there are links to even better files in the first comment) You will see how even that beginning of Time that surprised you so much finds its "perfect" location ... and even On The Run will not appear as something without rhyme or reason ... and finally the celebration of death will have nothing of tragic.
