First time watching your podcast and since you're doing my favorite band, subscribed to watch you hopefully down the PF rabbit hole! I saw this particular concert twice, it was so good. Literally felt the music for days. These guys are legends with an insane amount of talent. Im quite a bit older, been to many concerts of the classic rock era, nobody has topped the Pulse concert with Pink Floyd. I recommend listening to album versions first though. Then compare. Been listening to PF for 50+ years and still never gets old!

The lyricist for this song and most of the great Pink Floyd songs was Roger Waters who also played bass, he left the band in 84. This is David Gilmour's Pink Floyd. High Hopes was a Gilmour song. Try the song "Keep Talkin" (Gilmour song) from this same concert. surprising element.

Great reaction and interpretation. The song is deeper than most songs these days. The guitar solo is one of my favorite 3 solos done by Pink Floyd. The others are from "Comfortably Numb" and an old song called "Mudmen". David Gilmour plays with such emotion that it is captivating.

Roger Waters is a master lyricist who wrote the lyrics for many of Pink Floyd's songs. PF are also masters of the long build-up. They set a mood and get you into the vibe before they take you on a trip and then set you gently back down on Earth. The song immediately following this one is Great Gig in the Sky, and it's absolutely beautiful. I've watched it dozens and dozens of times over the years and I have yet to get through it without crying. It doesn't get better than Pink Floyd. 💗🤘🏽🎸

Great reaction man. You got a Like & Sub from me. Love seeing people first get blown away by PF, not just the music, but lyrically. Would love you to do a full album review of Dark Side of the Moon. It's all about the things in life that can put you on the dark side - get in the way of life - Life, Work, Time, Death, Money, War, Mental Illness. Make sure you have headphones and lyrics, and remember it was 1973 - no digitisation. Cheers from Australia mate.

Pink Floyd is a band, not a person. Being a Blues based band originally, (just like every other Rock & Roll band to come out of England in the 1960s), they all listened to American Blues, even early American Blues. Syd Barrett, one of the four original founding members of Pink Floyd in 1964, came up with the band's name, he took it from two old time American Blues guitarists,.... PINK Anderson, (1900 -1974),... and FLOYD Council, (1911-1976). This 1994 Pulse Concert is a rare performance for the band, they play their entire Iconic 1973 album "The Dark Side of the Moon", from beginning to end as it was meant to be listened to. I don't believe they ever did that since 1974! I'm a big Floyd fan, since the release of the DSOTM album, I've seen them live twice and both times I was astounded, they have always been known for their elaborate live performances and laser light shows. The album is considered by many fans, and Rock critics alike, as the greatest Rock album ever, it has sold over 60 million copies alone. PF has sold hundreds of millions of albums worldwide,... and still counting. The album is also famous for its cover, it shows a beam of light shining through a prism into a rainbow of colors coming out of the prism on the other side,.... I'm sure you've seen it somewhere, you may even own a T-shirt with it on it!

This song is over 50 year old. I'm 75 now and the lyrics are horribly true. Have loved Floyd since 1966, saw them first in 69. Been my favourite band All my life. Pardon the pun, but their music is timeless and still sends shivers up my spine. Just like being at that concert, the absolutely best ever. David Gilmour the guitarist has just finished his latest tour at 78 and still killing his guitar solos BTW, the end verse of the video is actually a reprise from a song before Time, called Breathe the Àir. Worth hearing them as a single listen. Another btw, the song is from Dark Side of the Moon, one of the biggest selling albums of all time (17 constant years in the Billboard album charts) and the lyrics are by former bassist Roger Waters who had left the band about 12years before this concert

What Pink Floyd do so well is they give you some lyrics and plant a thought in your mind then they give you an instrumental in order for you to sit with that thought and feel it. So many people cry when listening to them which is only natural they talk about some heavy stuff. ... The power or real music ayy ? ;)

Watching your subscribers grow. Keep it up m8. The band is revered for a reason. All of the bells on the album recording were timed. Alan Parsons was the producer. This song came out in 1973! Half a bloody century ago m8! Keep that in mind when you think about the music you listen to on the radio today. Or stop listening to the radio and only occasionally check in to see if you find anything you like. btw, your comments make sense. Nothing's really changed in half a century, we can change all of this if we pay attention to things. Keep up the good work young man! It'll take you far! The more you put into yourself, the more you'll get back, it's a strangely true part of life. btw, lyrics are Roger Waters and David Gilmore, but sung entirely by Gilmore yet again as he kicked himself out of the band! Serves him right! You get what you put in. He forgot that part when he announced that Pink Floyd was no more. He's not on the Pink Floyd website as a result, he's alienated himself from the rest of the band.
