Dark Side of the Moon is a classic album and a whole vibe, and this song really defines that sound for me (except the alarm bells at the beginning always surprise me, even though I've heard this song quite a few times haha). The second vocalist here is the keyboard player, Richard Wright, whose voice actually sounds similar to David's (although less gritty/bluesy). They duet together in the song 'Echoes' (I highly recommend reacting to the Live in Pompeii version of 'Echoes' and follow that with the live version from David Gilmour's solo tour in Gdansk in 2006; it's the last time he and Richard performed the song before Richard passed away in 2008). After Richard died, David Gilmour said he would never perform 'Echoes' again, because he felt the song was a musical conversation between himself and Richard.

These are simply some of the most profound lyrics in Rock. Roger Waters is among the best there's ever been. The older you get the deeper and more intimately understanding they become. "Home, home again" I just figured out not too long ago is about slowing down and growing old as we enter into the next phase of life. The tolling of the iron bell is a reference to death. Check out "Us and Them" by them next "Ask not for whom the Bell tolls; it tolls for thee" - John Donne, Poet, 1633

TIME is not a stand alone song, it is completed by The Great Gig In The Sky. If you want to hear a song with the deepest lyrics (sic ) that cut straight to the soul, then i recommend the great gig. The album itself is about human life. Side one is about OUR life and your life. Starts in the mothers womb with Speak To Me, then a female scream ( childbirth ) leeds into Breathe, because now you are born, you have to breathe for yourself. The On The Run for the pressures of life, in this case from a bands experiences of waiting around in airports and lots of air travel and helicopters etc. Then Time and The Great Gig finnish side one and our own personal life......the end being the 5 stages of death ( on the album ) and only 3 of the stages in most live performances.

The album "Dark Side of the Moon" revolves around a central theme that binds each of the songs and which is: (What drives people crazy). (BREATHE); If the performance required in life can drive people crazy. (ON THE RUN); If the frantic rush of life can drive people crazy. (TIME + Breathe Reprise); If the fleeting aspect of passing time can drive people crazy. (THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY); If the thought of the inevitable end (death), can drive people crazy. (MONEY); If love, or lack of money can drive people crazy. (US AND THEM); If the abusive hierarchy between color, power or wealth between US AND THEM can drive people crazy. (ANY COLOR YOU LIKE); If the illusion of being able to choose can drive people crazy. (BRAIN DAMAGE); If the fear of losing their mind can drive people crazy. (ECLIPSE); If the fact that our life seems to be limited to, (All that you touch - And all that you see...) can drive people crazy. So be aware that even the brightness of the sun may be eclipsed by the Dark Side of the Moon.

You really must listen to the entire Dark Side of the Moon album from start to finish. There is a reason it remains one of THE highest selling albums of all time. Not only that but it has been selected to in the Library of Congress list of most influential recordings of all time. In the words of Roger Waters who penned the lyrics, "It has some kind of universal appeal in that it confronts a number of major psychological and emotional concerns" in the Documentary by the band on the making of. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIaln4ZrfJhnf68 ( PINK FLOYD - The Dark Side Of The Moon 2003 Documentary HD ) The band was comprised of both musical and lyrical genius, and at that time, there was a synergy, amounting to greater than the sum of the parts. Waters penned the lyrics, and sometimes did a rough sketch of a song, but then the musical genius and acumen of Gilmour and Wright took that rough sketch of a woman smiling and made the Mona Lisa with it. Wright passed away in 2008, but Gilmour is still at it and still has the ability to speak directly to your soul with his music and his guitar. He just finished a tour for his new album, along with selected Floyd songs, including this one. Continue with vintage Floyd, but also check out one of the masters of those vintage soundscapes in the following: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIuvZn2ZaraGgpo (Scattered) the now 78 year old David is lamenting about being near the end...

Hi, just as an interesting name topic, you could, just as a suggestion, react to a song called Zeit by Rammstein. I think you will enjoy it. Cheers.

@RidiculousRic my 25 yr old son is in a PhD program in clinical-neuro psych! Im a 1971 kid that grew up on Floyd and Rush (among others). We raised our kids on both. Took whole family to Rush R40 and Pink Floyd Pulse was my wife's 1st concert!

Hey Bud, the screen lyric video did not match the music and it looked delayed so wasn,'t sure which part you were actualy listening to at all. Spoiled it for me☹️

@@jeremyhousman3940 sorry about that, honestly it wasn’t a lyric video, it was just the KZbin auto captions, they weren’t supposed to be up on the video tbh! It wasn’t a lyric video, I had just read the lyrics before hand and those were KZbin’s captions🤦🏻♂️

I was going to watch this until you said you’ve already read all the lyrics which makes absolutely no sense but it’s your channel.

@@TheBrian08 hello, I started reading the lyrics due to others requesting I touch on the lyrics! I have never heard the song itself, but I appreciate the feedback. The song blew me away and the lyrics were very powerful. Thankful I got a chance to hear this awesome piece of music. I hope you have a great day! Thanks for giving the video and channel a chance!

I enjoyed your reaction, All of their albums are recorded to be listened to nonstop from start to finish, each song blends into the next and they are all Master Pieces in my book, and headphones or ear buds are the best way to experience their Master Pieces, may I suggest that you check out their 1994 Pulse concert performed in London, enjoy the visuals as well as the music, maybe do the concert in segments ?? The entire concert is Awesome !! The Pink Floyd rabbit hole runs deep my friend, enjoy the journey !! God Bless
