I'm a child of the 60s grew up in the 70s I'll be stepping off this rock soon due to illness and age. Music in this era was everything to help get thru the madness of that era. No regrets just thanks that I was around to be part of the finest music to be written and composed. To the younger generation please listen to what is being said in these songs.

So, so you think you can tell heaven from hell? Blue skies from pain? Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? Did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? Did you exchange a walk on part in the war For a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl Year after year Running over the same old ground, what have we found? The same old fears, wish you were here

This is the song i played for my mother, as she died of cancer six years ago. It was always one of her favorites due to the loss of her mother. So I put it in the air waves as dhe drifted into a morphine dream. Im finally at a point where i can listen to it intentionally and feel. It has been a lot of stupid poor habit choices since her death, but im finally healing and feeling. This song is pure catharsis and beauty now rather than pain.

I remember when I was a child. I had just lost my father and was attending a school where bullying was rampant. The people there were cruel. One day, I included this song in the credits of a project I did about professions. That song held a message dedicated to my father. However, the people who watched it made fun of me-mocked me openly. Despite that, I never stopped loving that song.

So much loss in this comment section, my comment has no involvement with loss, but my brother, George moved away from home in 2018 to Murcia, Spain to live with his current girlfriend; they’re still happily together they’re officially engaged too. But my brother George loves pink Floyd more than any other band, he’s grown up around music like this and as have I, and I am blessed to know such talent and purity from a sound that comes from this. I would always play this song when I missed him or if I thought of him. 🖤🖤 I’m so sorry for everyone’s losses.
