It wasn’t ever explicitly mentioned it would never come back ever again. Thats literally made up. It ran as a limited event. That does not mean it cannot ever return. It means the event is running for a specific period of time with no promise of return. whether a collaboration happens again just remains to be seen, and in this case it did. 100% of the proceeds go to the research and they are doing this to also celebrate 100M lifetime players. Idk you could just let a good things happen and be people be happy and not project on it

I bought this when I was 16. 1 year ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, which led to being diagnosed with GIST (a rare form of stomach cancer), then lung cancer. It’s real irritating seeing some creators/people complain it’s returning when 1) it’s to support BCRF, 2) it hasn’t been back for almost 6 years and 3) BCRF had to be the one’s to make that call as they own it. Are we really going to complain that they are bringing back one of the most successful and important campaigns? It’s crazy how many people are complaining because it’s their “rarest” skin; It shouldn’t matter how rare it is when a price is being thrown on it. I know people who have had breast cancer, my grandmother died of Lung cancer, my brother is in kidney failure and my nephew was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 9. I will gladly support the BCRF and any cancer research because we need to cure it, chemotherapy is far worse and more aggressive on the body than just living with your cancer. This is an amazing cause and anyone who tries to take away from that, is not only silly but quite honestly dumb. People have been suffering for decades and I’d love to see them find a cure no matter how long it takes.

In OW1 the pink skin was easily on the lvl of a top legendary skin, with OW2 they could have given us a better update of that skin that leverages the OW2 engine updates. gonna get it either way, because donation skin events like that are awesome. I am glad they are putting the Mercy skin back up for charity purposes. I do feel like they should have done more than just add a recolor though. They easily could have shown a greater amount of support if they had added an all-new pink skin for one of their other heroes. It feels like supporting a cause but only up to a point. Hey flat I Really understand your points and reasons of this pink mercy rerelease since i watch for quite sometime and i agree with every point and every foresight that u have given us. im not a gatekeeper or something but, overwatch been doing this since start of overwatch 2 they rerelease a skin that is unique to the overwatch 1 player but just applied a recolored of it (i cant name the skins but we all know what it is) and pink mercy, blizzcon bastion and illidan genji these skin is the last few glimmers of exclusivity for overwatch 1 players it just feel like we got cheated, just picture one day the illidan genji skin came back people thats bought the ticket and hyped in 2019 just need to suck it up. The whole event could have been better if the original pink mercy skin didnt came back but the rose gold got released.

Happy it's back, my only thing was wishing it wasn't just w/ a recolor but instead either another version for another hero or a new design with it. It's great that people that missed out on the original get to nab it though!
