Yes amazing in every way. Including his tone. My experience has been it is very difficult to mic acoustic steel string guitar in a way that allows flat picking of melodic ideas to sound appealing. He (or his sound tech buddies) do it well enough so even a video posted on a non-music specific forum allows it to sound good.

He uses the imperfections of the guitar so well. Doesn’t need to edit out all of the scraping of the strings. Doesn’t need to make the bass notes or treble louder. This is why I love Tommy!

I can't prevent getting a smile on my face, when I see him play. He is so sympathetic, so enthusiastic, you can see and hear the joy for what he does in every note he plays. It's just fun to hear and see him play and his skills are outstanding. Nice!!!

Two years ago, I've been very lucky to see him in Paris (Olympia concert hall); he opened for Johnny Winter (as a substitute for Alvin Lee who had passed away the week before...) He ruined the whole evening in a 20 minute showcase : compared to him, anyone comin' on the stage with a guitar in hand, looked disabled!... He's a true genius and a real, plain and modest gentleman.

+Eddy Tan Anonymoose was partly right: the guitar is a custom Maton EBG808TE and the black piece of rubber on the soundhole is a feedback buster, which eliminates feedback when using the microphone and pickup. It basically blocks the hole to stop sound from coming out. TE Admin

@@4rchim3d3s no way. Jimmy couldn't play half the stuff Emmanuel can. Emmanuel can play everything Page has come up with. Emmanuel is basically playing three guitar licks, sometimes four at the same time. His brain is incredible that he can keep all parts going and sound amazing at the same time and on an acoustic. So easy to hide mistakes when you crank up the distortion on an electric.

This guy can seriously play yes? I love the blusey sound and technique, almost a Django Reinhardt sound. Love it.
