FULL Highlights Round 1 | EWS Lo Barnechea, Chile 2018

The dust has settled (literally) on the first Enduro World Series of the year in Chile and what a start to the season! The Lo Barnechea Montenbaik Enduro offered up one of the most explosive rounds to date as two days of racing in the high Andes turned into a war of attrition, with riders battling to keep bike and body together on that famous anti-grip.

Really WTF! The men get 100 more points per position compared to the woman! But the video over all was good. But what about the other competitors you didn't have budget for more editing? If your there to film I'm sure you filmed all the competitors, didn't you? How about some in between stages going on, mechanics make adjustments to tiers and shock set ups? I just watched 4 hours of the Paris - Roubais race. My attention span is longer than 20 minutes. European football is 90 minutes long. It looks like a lot of action why just a select recap? Is there a full version some where. Don't the sponsors want more airtime?

because there is something like 20 to 30 woman and about 300 hundreds men, so it makes sense to do it like that to spread points evenly on the entire field

the675gutfeeling interesting observation. I think you may be on the right track with less competitors and the totals go towards the team point score as well. So less points for less competition makes sense but would be interesting to hear an offical response on that one

Hi Everyone, We work incredibly hard to create a level playing field for men and women, equal prize money, same courses, same coverage and even split the men's field during a race to make sure that the women's category run as close to the top men as possible to maximise coverage and fan engagement for both men and women equally. We started in 2013 with equal series points too, but through experience, in order to make the Team Championship close and exciting, we re-balanced the points to reflect the amount of riders in each category. We reduce U21 and Master points (men and women) for the same reason too. Since our point adjustment we have had great women's racing, men's racing and very close and engaged Team racing which in fact motivates teams to sign more women too. Hope that explains it for you and don't worry, there's no passive aggressive misogyny here!

Its not all descents. There are really technical/long climbs but those don't look as good in videos to most people. A DH bike would weigh to much. Plus the transfers to the other stages are usually not lift assisted. Many Kilometers of pedal up steep grades.

Yeah its not all descents, there are climbs to the top and also some of these stages are incredibly long, and having the extra efficiency of an Enduro rig over a dh will definitely help

Try to climb ~2000m with a downhill bike on the transfers and see how much energy you have left for the timed downs. :) Also, on some of the stages of couple of races there are punchy climbs and flat sections.
