Really god stuff. This should definitely help me. I was playing like it was still tropico 4. They added a lot more to this game than I think people realize. What is a tough guesstimation of how much each one of the "blocks" cost colonia and WW era. I will continue to look over the rest of your videos hopefully you answer more of my questions with them. Thanks again.

Great video, very informative! Got a question though, this has been confusing me since I started playing Tropico. You say there will be 88 families in the houses and your facilities can service up to 100 people. Does that mean a family equals 1 person? Because if it doesn't wouldn't that mean your facilities would be overcrowded quite quickly? Thanks in advance if you get around to explaining that to me!
@Pinstar10 жыл бұрын
How many families a facility can handle effectively is a number that I don't have a hard and fast number on. The 1 max capacity = 1 family is a very rough estimation. The idea is that a tropican doesn't occupy that building's slot year-round. It only reserves the spot while the tropican is traveling to the building. So a single slot can handle more than one person per year. A "Family" can potentially be 1, 2 or more if you count young children. Given the average family size, I estimated that the average family has 2 people. Given variations for traffic and distance, I estimated that a single service building slot can handle 2 people per year. Thus that boils down to my estimation of 1 family = 1 slot. I may very well revise that estimation in the future as I get more data, but so far that ratio is holding up pretty well in practice. My facilities are heavily used, but rarely at 100% max capacity.

Pinstar Perfect, thanks a lot for that explanation. I've started a new game using the colonial housing block and been trying to do the sugar farm setup. I think I might have to re-learn some Tropico reflexes, they seem to be "not perfect" :)

HI I also have tropico 5. Like the concept of what you've done but what must not be left out is location. You can have a million homes and not one of them move into the home, if the location is not right. the home has to be beside work and entertainment the only thing that your configuration is missing are places of work. unless you have that square surrounded by factories and places of work.

Why is the housing block so cramped? For example, the way you arranged the grocery and the Catholic Mission. With the tavern being in the middle of them, can the tropicans even get in to it? I always thought you needed more space for them to move around.
@Pinstar8 жыл бұрын
+Daryl Joplin They can walk to the buildings. Why so cramped? Space is valuable and a small footprint makes this layout easy to duplicate.

rebels and enemy army doesn't attack house or residence, they attack military and economics buildings and of course the palace, so the tower in a residential block is needless, unless that is near a plantation or a factory

+El Presidente Rebels/uprisings originate from residential blocks (tenements, apartments, large groups of houses etc) so that's not a bad idea.... Guard towers are also good near the coast because that's where enemy invasions originate from

If they are close together, you can sub out more housing units if you have several blocks together. In my 2nd livestream (Tropico 5 Strategy & Tactics Livestream2: World War era part 1) I build one of my WW era housing blocks next to my original colonial block and swap out the newspaper since I don't need two so close.
