What about the fact that if you watch what the pope said a few minutes before saying all religions are a path to seek God, it actually makes sense. He said to the teachers that they must be a critic to other religions but to do in a constructive manner. Why was this part left out?

@@Adam-ue2igthat’s if the doctrines were false. We believe what the apostles and the early church fathers have always taught. Saying that baptism isn’t necessary for salvation, when our Christ himself says that, “unless you are born of water and spirit you cannot enter the kingdom of God.” Or “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life within you.” If our Lord says it, why do we make exceptions? Saying these are just symbols. I want to submit myself to Christ and fully find out what is the truth. The Catholic Church is just that, & I promise you they have an answer for everything. You just need to listen with an open heart. I hope God blesses you, and that one day you will really consider what the Catholic Church has to offer

If one gets scandalous about all that’s happening in The Church then need be is to read the Gospels, and The letters of St.Paul. We can’t be people who ignore the situation but we can’t become scandalous people as well. We must call it out with prudence while holding grounds on the Faith. At least in this segment, there is a categorization of those who go along with the scandle, and those who refuse to take scandle and stay close to Christ. It seems there is a sub category of those who take scandal... Who truly believe they are staying close to Christ, but end up in some form of extreme reaction that is also scandal.

The truth is Jesus. Nothing new under the sun. In the old covenant, the priests and leaders went through waves of holiness and corruption, but the deposit of faith tradition / magistrate / scripture was still true. God sanctified people and produced the greatest saints when times were hard. The same can be said in the new covenant. The less holy the people (modernism, secular), the less holy the leaders. The more holy the people, the more they pray and bring holier leaders. The good news is all the communist infiltration from the 1900s is now getting weeded out, and the new incoming priests and converts / reverts are traditional, desiring holiness to imitate Christ. In hard times, the strongest faith is produced.

@michaelk969
@michaelk969 4 күн бұрын
You can be sure that what the Church has always taught down through the ages is true. That complete body of teachings is called the Deposit of Faith. No pope can change any part of the Deposit of Faith. The pope's role is to preserve the Deposit of faith without adding to it or subtracting from it in any way. Currently, we have a pope (Pope Francis) who very clearly is attempting to found a new Church in accord with his own beliefs, which in a multitude of ways, contradicts the Deposit of Faith. Many Catholics don't want to call a spade a spade. We have an aversion to criticizing the pope because , in principle, he is not only the vicar of Christ but also he is supposed to be the central point of unity in the Church. He is supposed to be the vicar of Christ, Servant of the servants of Christ and the primary bishop to "strengthen your brothers", as himself Christ said to the first pope Peter. Pope Francis has renounced the title "Vicar of Christ", he terrorizes and cancels faithful bishops and priests, and he weakens, not strengthens the brethren. My advice to all is to pray for Pope Francis so that he returns to the true faith. Put your trust in the constant teachings of the faith. What the Church has always taught by all popes prior to Francis. Simply obey the precepts of the succession of previous popes in their explication of the Deposit of Faith.

It's not true at all. People have been explaining what Popes has said for centuries. When Paul VI wrote about birth control, he was massively criticized and told it was wrong. There were very few bishops defending him. Now, we all hold it to be prophetic in nature and support his words. The term popsplaining may not have existed, but the concept certainly did. Even James explained what Peter said at the council of jereuselem.

Thank you for this video. I grew up Protestant but my wife is catholic and may sin attends CCD. I have a great interest in the catholic church and their form of worship. The history and structure is actually refreshing and I appreciate the reverence to the service and sacraments. But it always irks me when I hear that the pope is infallible and seems like he is basically the head of the church (outside of Christ). Men are flawd, whether Protestants or catholic. People screw up church not God. How do Catholics address the stances that the current pope has taken? They are clearly not biblical. I really want to become catholic but it scares me to think that the authority is too down in Catholicism and many are afraid to call out the popes actions.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment! There are tons of amazing videos online that address this, I would highly recommend Joe Heschmeyer (from the Shameless Popery KZbin channel), he has an amazing video on Papal infallibility. Long story short, the Papal Office is only infallible when it speaks from the chair of Peter (“ex cathedra” means form the chair of Peter) on very limited matters. For example, the last time an ex cathedra statement was made was all the way back in 1950 by Pope Pius XII! We understand these statements to be inspired by the Holy Spirit (among other reasons).

When the early Church encountered its first doctrinal crisis, as to how much of the Jewish Law Gentile Christians should be required to follow, the Apostles met in Jerusalem to discuss the matter. The “Council of Jerusalem” was the first Ecumenical Council of the Church. This became the established way of resolving doctrinal disputes. When the Roman Empire became Christian, it was accepted that the Christian Roman Emperor was the protector of the Church and he was also considered as Christ’s visible representative on earth, but not in doctrinal matters, only in so far as Christ reigns on earth in a Christian Empire. Doctrinal matters were still decided by an Ecumenical Council. The Emperor would, normally, call such a Council and arrange for safe conduct for all of the Bishops to the place where the Council was to meet and he would provide protection for them, food and accommodation. The Council would then report its conclusions to the Emperor. The Emperor would invite the Bishop of Rome to formally confirm the dogmatic definitions of the Council - that is, he was invited to “confirm his brethren” the role which Our Lord entrusted to St. Peter. It was only after the Great Schism in 1054 that this procedure was altered. The Eastern Church took the view that, by definition, an Ecumenical Council must include all of the Bishops of the Catholic Church. Since the Western Bishops were forbidden by the Western Emperor from attending a Council held in the Eastern Empire, this ceased to be possible after the Great Schism. So, the Eastern Orthodox Churches take the pragmatic view that only the first seven Ecumenical Councils of the Church define binding dogma. They do not accept that the Councils called in the Western Church are in the nature of Ecumenical Councils. This makes life much easier, of course, for Eastern Orthodox Christians. Dogma is now fixed. They do not need to argue about the ordination of women or the “marriage” of those of the same sex. Since these matters are already settled by the Sacred Scriptures and the first seven Ecumenical Councils of the Church, no alteration in such teachings is possible. In the Western Church we have the German Cardinals stating, openly and without contradiction by the Pope, that, while the teaching of the Sacred Scriptures and of the Councils of the Church on homosexuality are clear enough, those teachings are, quite simply, wrong and the Pope has the authority to alter the teaching both of the Sacred Scriptures and of Ecumenical Councils. The Pope has made it perfectly clear that this is his intention. When he met with the Jesuit seminarians in Lisbon the Pope assured them that, since he had altered the Catechism in respect of the death penalty and no one had made any real objection to this, even though the Catechism now denies the teaching of the Sacred Scriptures and of the Council of Trent on the matter, he could just as easily alter the Catechism on homosexuality, so that it now taught that this behaviour was perfectly acceptable, leading the way to the Church endorsing and making provision for same sex “marriage”. The Pope’s comments were recorded, so we do know what his views are. Understandably, Eastern Orthodox Christians look on and laugh at the stupidity of Latin Rite Catholic Christians - they applaud and follow a Pope who openly denies the authority of the Sacred Scriptures and of Ecumenical Councils of the Church. As to suggestions that the solution is to “leave” the Church and become a Protestant, that is absurd. Protestants believe, as definite teaching, that the Catholic Church is wrong in respect of the Eucharist, the position of Our Lady and other essential doctrines. To become a Protestant would be to deny essential and basic teachings of the Catholic Faith. So, it may be that the only way forward is to become an “underground” Catholic. This is what has happened in China. The Pope sent Cardinal MacCarrick, a man of the lowest possible moral character and the most limited ability, to negotiate a Concordat with the Communist Government of China which sets up a “Patriotic Church” which is a body which denies many of the essential teachings of the Catholic Faith. The Pope has ordered Chinese Catholics to abandon the Faith and to join this body, which worships the State rather than Almighty God and which permits agents of the Government to enter Churches and to pull down crucifixes, smash statues and desecrate the Blessed Sacrament (although it might, hopefully, be argued that a “consecration” by a Priest of this new worldly body is not a valid consecration). So, Chinese Catholics, accepting that the Pope has abandoned the Faith and has called upon them to do the same, have formed underground Churches where they continue to practice the Faith in secret, but at great risk to their personal safety. All faithful Catholics need to consider doing the same - we have already seen the “abomination of desolation” set up where it should not be (Pachamamma worshipped by a pagan priestess in the Vatican itself) and the Pope has openly applauded and advanced Cardinals and other clerics who have denied the Faith. There can be no real doubt as to what the Pope’s intentions are - the solution is not to blindly assert that we must be personally loyal to the Pope - that is absurd. To be loyal to the Pope is to believe what he believes and teaches and that is not possible for a true Catholic.

POPE BENEDICT XV (succeeded Pius X in 1912): “In the Church there is room for divergent opinions, and it is clearly the right of everyone to express and defend his or her own opinion. But in such discussions no expressions should be used that might constitute serious breaches of charity; let each one freely defend his or her own opinion, but let it be done with due moderation, so that no one should consider himself or herself entitled to affix on those who merely do not agree with their ideas the stigma of disloyalty to faith or to discipline. It is, moreover, our will that Catholics should abstain from certain appellations (designations) that have recently been brought into use to distinguish one group of Catholics from another. They are to be avoided... they give rise to great trouble and confusion among Catholics... There is no need of adding any qualifying terms to the profession of Catholicism; it is quite enough for each one to proclaim ‘Catholic is my name and Christian is my surname,’ only let them endeavor to be in reality what they call themselves.”

One of many things that frustrates me about Catholicism as a Protestant is that "the church" has much fallacious circularity. So no matter how bad it gets it will be doubled down with the standard rhetoric i.e Christ founded the Catholic church exclusively as "the one true church, the papacy is true, etc. No matter how much evidence to the contrary of exclusively Catholic doctrines or no matter how much scandal, chaos and confusion the double down will continue (also there seems to be an equivocation such that to deny Catholicism as the one true church with the fullness of truth and Faith is to deny Christ Himself which makes no sense in light of the fact that you can be EO or Protestant and obviously not deny Christ but maintain He is Lord and Savior. To be a non Catholic Christian is not to deny Christ. I think this is ultimately part of why "the church " gave up on Unam Sanctum bo salvation outside of the church and "it is necessary for every creature for salvation to be subject the Roman pontiff" etc...They realized at Vatican 2 they had lost the battle so they had to anachronistically reinterpret and repackage Unam Sanctum to fit a new ecumenism i.e seperated brethren and lacking the "fullness" and not in "perfect union" etc. This is why I see Sedevacantists as the more consistent rendering of the Catholic church. Atleast they are being honest and not redefining and reinterpreting history to fit modernism and post conciliar church age.

We must carefully follow St.John Paul II’s profound guidance on Vatican II to discern what was true and what was watered down in order to be open to the Holy Spirit’s reintegration of what was lost. There is also beauty however, in the simplicity and profundity of the greatest commandment which I see was a Vatican II triumph and that I saw and felt growing up despite the scandals and sins. This commandment if followed, eclipses sins of pride with the light of Christ shining through us; His greater Body.

I think when we go to our judgment, the Lord will most definitely ask how we could let the Bride of Christ be dragged through the mud by a false pope who worships idols and brings them into the Church corrupting the Mass and suppressing the Traditional Latin Mass. Yes, I do believe the Lord will ask serious questions about how we let Mr. Bergoglio dismantle the Church and how we could have been fooled into believing he was the valid pope. I don’t think we can avoid that reckoning and we will be reduced to silence and stand shame-faced before Him. Unfortunately, I believe there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

No more confusion, clear cut teaching, not being annoyed by abuses in the mass. No, it actually is NOT wrong what the pope said about different paths leading to God; for He Himself uses different means to reach different people- the reason why is to use anything that would do moral harm to anybody, regardless of its validity in the dogmatic doctrines of the faith, really is contra-salvation and contra-God Himself... He uses what mechanisms work; usually since the days of the Inklings, He has used fantasy works to reach men... especially mixed in with science of matter and sheer logic... not scripture at all! Especially as sacred writings really do teach objectively *antimoral* stances second to none; we KNOW that what reaches us via so-called sacred scripture really is the devil itself! The two never ever use the same means between them; so we the Faithful, the People, know that the sacred traditions of the church fathers and the councils are heretical, as we've tested them ourselves and they've proven to lead not to Heaven but to Hell itself: hatred of neighbor for instance has come out of not pride, but *humbling oneself/humility* is the sole source of true hatred of God- so throw out anything of the divine word that contradicts objective reality.

Jesus was the cornerstone that the builders rejected. Paul was from the Tribe of Benjamin, and Benjamin was prophesied to be a ravenous wolf splitting the spoil in the same prophecy that said the scepter would not depart Judah. Jesus said the Holy Spirit would teach you in all things. John said you need no man to teach you. John was the beloved disciple that Jesus loved, and John taught his disciples what Jesus taught him, but the Bishop of Rome tried to excommunicate John’s disciples because they chose to follow John’s teachings rather than decrees from the position that would become the pope.
