Forgiveness is the most difficult teaching. I never fully understood it until I watched Fr Mike Schmitz video on Forgiveness when he said "you don't have to be friends with that person again or have that person present in your life because if they've hurt you they've demonstrated that they can't be trusted so that would more be foolish than forgiveness. Forgiveness gives us the freedom to move forward. Forgiveness isn't a matter of feeling it’s a decision."

I killed my brother in law in defense and was acquitted by a jury I'm a practicing Catholic and I will say from my experience there is a lot of supernatural guilt transcending any civil law with some fear of judgement that remains. On the other hand ; immersing myself in regular confessions does put a tremendous armor against my guilt and wounds from the supernatural guilt.

They can also convert at time of their execution...as this would be their punishment in our world. Few criminals spend life in prison any more, democrats let rap!sts and murderers out early for good behavior...ugh disgusted 🙄 yes forgive but give proper punishment.
@tdogg15153 жыл бұрын
Is execution really a punishment if they have converted? Just sounds like a fast track way to heaven, would it not be better them to go out and serve the community to repay for their crimes provided they have generally turned their life around.

I think it would be proper to forgive, and pray for their salvation, as well as pray for justice to be had in this present world……they could be saved and sharing their faith while serving a life sentence in prison , but yes very good example of Him to not be bitter

Every sin is forgiveable, that is in the core of our faith. Every other way is hell. Btw child molestation is not done only by priests, it happens primarily at home by relatives.

@@nemgyuri exactly. Even Judas could have been forgiven if he had have repented and turned back to God. As you say child molestation is prolific in public schools, boy scouts and sports clubs but the media won't report it
