I was an LT (lieutenant) in the Army, and once I had my first child I could not longer stay in the Army and be a mom too, I had to choose. I choose to get out of the Army and be a stay at home mom. I got a lot of slack for that, and was blamed for throwing away my education and my career, as if raising my son was a waste of time. At first I felt bad, but I couldn't leave my son, and 9 years later, even with all the financial difficulties we have encountered, I say again that it was the right choice. The Army replaced me right away, but to my children I am irreplaceable.

Motherhood is the most important and rewarding role a woman can ever have, by a long way.. it’s an extremely hard job, tireless and often thankless, sleepless nights, worries, and all for no pay. Women by nature are nurturing, and motherhood fills that need to care and serve others, without reward, like a saint! 😇👼

I can't even imagine the awkwardness of the guy that got my wife pregnant coming around and the constant reminder of him by nature of the children being there. The fact that vvomen think men should simply overlook this is incredibly out of touch. Then, there is the simple logistics, forget taking a romantic trip together, well, even date night, nope, that's over too. Also, the new guys option for his OWN children is restricted, by another man's sexual experiences with his wife, It is a bad deal for the new guy and vvomen somehow cannot fathom how this might be a problem, but then.. vvomen will reject men for any slight imperfection or even perceived imperfection.

What Cameron says about the cosmetic work actually having an inverse relationship to improved confidence is so true.. I started getting highlights when I was 15 because my hair was getting darker and darker and it was always bright blonde when I was growing up.. The amount of good feedback I’ve gotten over the years from guys that I’ve dated, commenting on my hair color and how they prefer blondes has made it to where I kind of feel locked into dying my hair this color.. which is a problem bc this is not my natural hair color anymore. So the compliments are not directed to me; they’re compliments directed towards something I pay to have done to myself 🙂🫤. Actually quite scary saying it out loud. Yeahhhh

My opinion of staying at home has honestly changed as well. I’m a working mom and I do somewhat resent when people treat me like I’m a bad mom for working. However, I’ve tried both and we were sinking fast financially without me working in this economy. I have tried hard to make a compromise and never, ever put work before my kids. I work at my daughter’s daycare and hope to eventually teach or do healthcare which I’m passionate about. However, I absolutely do agree there is still an ideal and that is for families to be able to make it on one income. Maybe we’ll get there someday but in the meantime I think it’s more important to be content than to resent my husband for not making more or something like that, so there is a balance I believe.
@sassychimpanzee7431 Жыл бұрын
I definitely hear your point as a fellow married woman who has to work for our family to financially survive. I'm currently pregnant with our first and on maternity leave. When I go back to work, I'll only have to work about 10-12 days a month which is great since it's basically part time. My husband works from home and my family is very willing to help babysit so thankfully we won't have to do daycare. But some people in the conservative Catholic community are so harsh towards women who have to work, as if we are evil, abandoning our children, sinning because we leave the house, etc. But what are we supposed to do? I can't stay home and care for my kids if we can't afford a house to live in. Were my husband and I just supposed to never have children? Should I have not married my husband despite being called by God to do so? In our current economy most men don't make enough money to provide for a wife and multiple kids. I agree that motherhood is more important than my career, but for many nowadays it's not possible to give up a career altogether.
@MelanieBarrozo-u7s Жыл бұрын
@@sassychimpanzee7431 Thanks for your response and congratulations on your baby! I have a two year old and a little boy on the way (in the third trimester and working as much as I can). I absolutely agree. And the other thing is not everybody lives close enough for family to be the babysitters. My mom works full time as a nurse and lives 2 hours away and my in-laws are the same distance. Sure, we could move to be closer to family but that means moving further away from the other side of the family (we’re just smack dab in the middle). I am actually Lutheran but I think we have many of the same problems with how people view motherhood/feel a little to free to offer their parenting opinions while forgetting that we are trying to be faithful Christians open to life (I do believe in the Catholic view of birth control). Actually we are discerning whether to remain in the Lutheran Church or join the Catholic Church so there’s something to pray about! Bless you and your growing family and, hey, praise God you don’t have to depend on a daycare! Some are great, but again it comes down to the ideals (plus it’s not exactly cheap either). At the end of the day, God has blessed you and just needs you to trust in Him and not get bogged down by every comment. Just enjoy being a momma!
