I just installed my pioneer and connected the green parking brake wire to the ground wire. But I’ll need to get a switch cause I can’t watch video, just like you I have to put the parking brake up down and up again, so switch will be the solution. Thanks!!

You don't have to use the remote wire, you just have to ground the parking brake wire trough the toggle switch, one side of the toggle to the green wire and the other sided of the toggle to ground

Bingo. The remote wire is strictly for a 12v signal for the light on the switch.

That doesn't work with the newer radios. I tried that on mine and it did not work. I bought a 3 wire relay from eBay for $7 bucks and now I just press the Ok button on the screen and it works like a charm.

the remote wire is for a amplifier it is the turn on wire so if you do this you will not be able to install a amp for a subwoofer or mids and highs

The remote wire just happens to be a 12v wire on the harness. It sends a 12v signal to the amplifier to turn on. You can get away with splicing your remote turn on wire into your 12v switched red wire and get the same results and then use the remote turn on wire. Realistically, that 12v prong is probably only for the illumination on the light anyway. You can wire a 2 prong switch, with one wire coming from the e brake wire and one wire going to a ground and it'll work without a LED light on the button. All you need to do is ground out the wire, but Alpine systems require you to toggle your e brake on and off a few times before it'll allow you to watch the video, and grounding it out on a switch is best way.

+Alexis Martinez On my 04 Jetta, it would not play in park or while driving. The switch was necessary in order to bypass the built in security Pioneer puts in their decks. If you have any other questions, lmk.

+Alexis Martinez Im not exactly sure for the Honda. Do you have the Honda/Acura aftermarket harness for your Accord? If you follow these rules you wont have to worry about it either way. Just make sure you wire in a switch. Road trips with a movie playing is much more enjoyable.
