Hi Ignacio from Buenos Aires over here! first of all really thanks for sharing thiswas a great help in getting the courage to open the dishes to make them sharp. I am currently having a problem with the forward/rewind and next/back track buttons in my xdj 1000 and I am wondering to know if you could help me to identify what and where the failure lies so I can fix it myself

Hi! I have a Mk1 I've cleaned the jog but now it's going hard and stumbling. Could I have some kind of greasing?

When scratch on my cdj1000mk3 there's a delay with track what could be the reason. It only happens on 1 side of the platter

Adjust the Start / stop knob somewhere above the pitch slider I think

I would suggest to open it like he is explaining and remove the platter maybe the issue is in the platter assembly. You can use Q-tips to wipe clean everything you can see that has dirt. Clean the tiny wheels, make sure they all spin freely, and that assembly has a light or laser similar to a computer mouse so clean whatever you see, take your time.. and when putting things back try to look at the parts notches, cuts, indents that will help you remember how or where they go. Like that white plastic has a shape that can only go one way.. some screw holes are a bit closer than the third. The platter under neath has cut marks in diferent places so when you put it back all slots must meet or match with the proper area.. if you do it wrong you will notice the platter tight and not free.

This is great, thanks for posting. I have a question about the Jog Adjust function; one of my decks came back from being borrowed and I just noticed its jog tension is tighter than my other ones, despite the Jog Adjust knob being set the same. Do you think this is something that was caused by damage, excess pressure on the jog wheel, or is it more likely just due to years of dust & dirt buildup inside the unit? I'm wondering whether it's worth approaching the person who borrowed them over it.

Is the knob loose as in does it wobble any more than your other deck? If so it might have been pressed in. If the difference is small, maybe a tightening of the spring is all it needs. Set the spring wheel one value higher.
