Pioneer CDJ / XDJ Cue/Play Button Replacement and New Black Out and Cue Brace Mods for the XDJ-1000!

Note: This covers models with the locking wire connection mentioned, some older models solder this connection in, this will be covered in the solder episode.
After struggling with some PC issues, we're back.
This video is a quick look at the disassembly and replacement of the cue/play buttons and board on the XDJ-1000MK2, this same exact process is applicable for numerous other models. The soldering of the tact switches will be covered in the next video.

would you by any chance know what it would be just going to standby mode after power ON? screen is black nothing works but blinking red light in standby.

Salut mec ! Dis moi j’ai un soucis sur mes ddj sr... je dois appuyer fort pour mettre play ou pause, et pareil pour le bouton cue. Tu sais qu’elle pièce j’aurais à acheter ? Et si la réparation est compliquée ?

I just got an XDJ XZ unit a few months ago and I'm already paranoid about the right cue button. Do you know uf the CDJ NXS2 cases are the same as the ones in the XDJ XZ by any chance? Also would those mods of your possibly fit in my unit? Great video btw

Sorry for the delay took a break from the youtube for awhile (no video card hahaha). So I do know that the NSX2 does use a different button assembly so unfortunately the mod does not fit! But it does appear the XZ uses a similar/same to the NSX2, and that one that is more robust and does not fail. so even better! no mod needed!

It does not, the CDJ2000 uses a different button, which I haven't seen too many failures of in repairs to note

Would it be possible to mod the xdj 1000 mk2 to have the ring light around the cue and play button, like the cdjs

so unfortunately the cdjs have a separate plastic ring from the buttons that provide the ring light, so to add that to the XDJ, you will either need to modify the housing or create a new cue /play button assembly. Not impossible, but will take quite a bit of modifying to add

Will your button mods work on my cdj-2000? I dont believe it is the nexus

It does not, however I will note that the 2000 uses the more robust style button, so I haven't seen this issue on that model to note - but the replacement process is the same for the most part

@@oca2music awesome. Yeah my play button got stuck the other night. It still functions but no longer has the physical clicking effect. Its like a touchscreen almost hahaha i will be taking it apart to check it out tonight. Thanks for the info tho. Hoping its an easy fix

@@brandoncordy7529 that sounds like it is likely the switch it presses underneath. Not an uncommon or difficult repair, you might be able to get a bit more life out of it if you clean, but I recommend replacing - so it doesnt hang you out to dry sometime.
