A2J I'm a 43 year old vinyl Dj and just recently bought the regular ddj 1000 and love it! It's really weird to get used to using a laptop and there is soooooo much shyte you can do with it. I would say go with the rekordbox version though, it has a lot more options and way more effects

@@patmygroin I thought about getting the rekordbox version when it came out and I played around with rekordbox dvs in general and honestly I just dont like the feel of it. I like traktor, I use serato, but rekordbox just isnt up to what I want it to be. I still own and play with a DDJ-S1 player 😁 Just absolutely love that thing. Real basic player but so good. Faders, knobs and jogwheel still feel very crisp and solid. 👍 I'll play that thing until either it dies or no more support for Serato (which I doubt).

Pioneer need to produce a DDJ-800SRT version for Serato users, if they see it worth having a 1000SRT model surely an 800SRT version would be easy with the software already sorted for the 1000SRT I have nothing against Rekordbox but as a long term Serato user and in no way needing a 4 channel controller an DDJ-8800SRT would seem a logical step, I would buy it as soon as one came out !!!!!

Bro u can actually dial in the BPM for beat fx by pressing SHIFT and then the RIGHT Beat fx button. But you have to tap or set it to auto by pressing SHIFT and then the LEFT beat fx button.
@Mojaxx5 жыл бұрын
By ‘dial it in’ I mean by holding Tap and turning the Time knob like you can on a 900NXS2 and other hardware. That takes you up or down 1 bpm at a time. You can even hold a second button with it and dial in to a tenth of a bpm. No time knob means tap or auto are the only options on the 1000SRT.

Strange how Pioneer holds on to their 1995 style of looping. A simple push encoder is way more intuitive + faster to use and takes up less controller real estate. Also, it could double up as a loop move control on a shift layer. I wonder how long it's gonna take 'em to abandon that. Like if you want that push encoder, too :)

You mean like practically any device you'll buy now-a-days? Like the latest Samsung or Apple phones? Laptops? Hell, they just released a new version of my truck with an ever so slightly better head unit, sucks to be me for not waiting. @therealSunnyDizzle5 жыл бұрын
@@delayedinsanity I still have the iPhone 8, iPhone 5 before that, my truck is from 2004 and my Macbook is from 2012. Why? because they work just fine and I'm smart, or at least I like to think I am. My point here was not that I'm against new products, but that I'm starting to see that Pioneer seems to somehow "forget" to add or leaves out industry-standard functions that the DJ community tells them about time and time again, that end up being sparsely added to the "upgraded" versions. They know if they added what is supposed to be on these damn things we'd only buy that one and be happy, but no....its better to suck the consumer dry.

@@therealSunnyDizzle That's literally their job to make money. They're not in the business because they just absolutely love putting out 12 different machines that essentially do the same thing. They're all purpose-built to make money from a very specific market segment. Complaining that they forgot a particular button that you wanted is all that much more ridiculous if they actually put it on the next version and instead of saying hey cool thanks I needed that, you immediately launch into a tirade about how they forgot this other button you really wanted. I guess all I'm saying is either be happy with it, or get something else. You've got choices. Complaining on KZbin is also one of those choices.
@therealSunnyDizzle5 жыл бұрын
@@delayedinsanity Fist of all, not complaining, it was more of an opinion. Second, I get that they are here to make money, no one is debating that, its what EVERYONE is out to do. What I was noting was that I don't agree (my right as an American) with how they produce these controllers without functions that have been BASIC and standard on their previous stand-alone products. That was it, I don't use controllers, I use turntables with vinyl on Serato. You don't see Serato charging you for every fucking update to their software, do you? Hell, I purchased "scratchlive" and Serato Video like 13 years ago and that was it! Never got charged another dime. That's all I'm saying. If you make these fucking things so that they look like CDJs, THEN MAKE THEM CDJs! why take shit out that you know people need and are used to? And by the way, if I want to make the conscious choice to bitch and complain on the internet, who the fuck are you to tell me otherwise.

Many of these reviews are missing the major flaws. Keep in mind , I’m not saying it’s a terrible controller. But for the price tag , they gave an incomplete product. Problems : 1. Cant adjust the channel fader curve (even though you see the knob in serato settings , but unable to adjust it. 2. Cant adjust the gain of the mics (even though you can see the knob in serato settings) 3. Serato FX are post fader - even if I Midi map the knobs to trigger effects in serato it doesn’t sound good at all, nothing like a ddjsx. 4. You can’t adjust the intensity on the color effects (the dub echo sounds nothing like on a djm900, the noise is wayyy too intense, only filter works as it should) . On other controllers/mixers there is a pioneer utility to adjust , the srt does not have it (yet atleast). 5. The Sensitivity on the platter is not adjustable like on cdjs. It can take some getting used to scratching on beat with it. 6. Not being able to control the mic volume using a knob (as opposed to the fader on ddjsx) sucks big time. I didn’t realize how much better having a fader was until I started using it at weddings. I’ve used it 3 days a week since it was released for bar djing and wedding djing. All of these problems I listed are actually FIXABLE problems with a firmware/software update. But they haven’t done it yet. For a wedding dj I don’t recommend it , for a club/bar dj it does fine , if you don’t use serato fx at all.
@melvinwhitten17603 жыл бұрын
Why do controller companies puttingg the pad at thh bottom instead of the middleor the top with that ou could move the jog wheels down so that the cross fader and jog wheels are in line. Where the pads are now is ok but with pads at the bottommakes look like you are reaching to the jog wheels. I you look at any new stand alone mixers the pads are in the middle when add cdjs or turntables they are in line with cross feader. It makes it better for beat juggleing and other tricks. I came from two turntables and a mixerto a controller
