Congratulations on completing another great project! That receiver is an absolute beauty. A piece of art that can be passed down for generations. Ever since I bought my first integrated amp in 1975 I have loved the silver faced classics.

Thank you for the tip on the modified tweeker tool! Have ran into accidentally adjusting both cores before. This will certainly make things easier. I also love the PA81 for tuner alignment, having the meters, scope display, and speaker is exactly what is needed for a quick alignment.

Hi Tony, an absolutely amazing series that I watched with bated breath and I watched each episode at least 3 times to make sure I didn't miss anything 😁 It was wonderful to see such a professional work 👍 PA81 is perfection itself, 2x 250W max must be enough for most testing, but I was left speechless when I found out that Sencore produced a power ballast up to 5000W 😲 Nice day 🙂 Tom

Re the microvolts to dbf comversion, this became an issue around 1973, when some agency, I don't remember which, mandated that FM sensitiviy ratings, make the switch, as miocrovolt ratings were sometime falsified, depending on whether rated at 75 or 300 ohms. With dbf, there was no room for confusion.

Thank you so much for putting this video together. Super helpful. Just stuck on how to get my modern Hantek Oscilliscope to read x and y the way you have the signal at 28:21. I am able to get a pattern but it’s nothing like what you have displayed or what is in the service manual.

Tony, you are so awesome. How to I go from a guy who has a good understanding of Ohm's Law to being able to to say: "that is not what I was expecting..." I've also been let to believe when looking for a signal, a broadcast signal close to the manual reference points would substitute .You were able to go deeper. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

End of an era. Everything was component shortly after these rigs sold. In 1981 I had a stereo that was about 6 inches wide and 4 components tall, ha.

Hi Tony, after watching many of your videos, I finally understand the FM tuner alignment process :). Thank you! I am curious, what is a purpose/application of a GPS Disciplined Oscilator? A reference signal for signal generator or oscilloscope?

A lot of professional test equipment have a 10 MHz input to keep them all synchronized. So the GPS 1 Hz signal keeps a 10 MHz oven oscillator on frequency.
