These were some of the most beautiful receivers back in the late 70s early 80s. I had the RS-2002 and then moved up to the RS-2010.

What would cause this model to not produce any sound?

The STK power chips would cause that symptom. Some people claim they are hard to find but the technician that serviced my receiver about 8 years ago didn't have any trouble finding and acquiring them.
