This idler looks in good shape, probably it's just slipping. You might be able to restore it completely by soaking it in acetone based nail polish remover. No need to remove it even, just use a cotton swab. It's cheaper, and I can guarantee if the rubber is not cracked or damaged, it will be better than any new idler you can buy today. But yeah, these mechanisms are kind of a pain to service.

That Idler has got fully hardened. I replaced it with a new one.

I managed to remove the idler withoutt removing the reels pretty easily.

That’s fine, I prefer to have a full access to not brake any sensitive parts
