Lots of these in Philippine passenger jeepneys during the 80s. Favorite of the drivers because of the great sound quality. They would connect these to audio amps connected to woofers and tweeters that virtually turned their vehicles into boomboxes. The old passengers would complain because of the chest-thumping low frequencies but the teens loved it and would often go into music joyrides. Those were the days when FM stereo stations became very popular among the masses as drivers would often tune in to them while ferrying their passengers along the city routes.

I had one back in the day. Then it was stolen. The thief[s] broke the rear hatch window to gain entry. That cost more to replace than the Pioneer stereo. The SuperTuner was Pioneer's awesome tuner circuit which helped in rural areas to pull in fringe stations loud and clear. I was able to listen to stations from 80 miles away. It helped their transmitters were on a hill so there was line of sight to where I lived.
