Kyrie is an amazing player with possibly the greatest basketball skills of all time but he lacks that competitive fire, inherent in the make-ups of players like Jordan and Kobe, to be considered on that level...Still love his game though and wishes he would evoke that level of drive because that's the only formula i can imagine for the Mavericks to come out on top in the upcoming finals agains the Celtics...Go Dallas!!...I like Boston too but i think they'll get several more chances to win it all while the Mavs, most likely, will not.

Great analogy. He plays like a great soccer player in that he will often let the defenders make the first move and the first mistake. Just dribble casually until they come in then you counter off what they do. To do this though the ball must be basically an extension of you.

As a celtics fan, when he signed with Boston, I was going crazy and raved/ranted on how he was going to fill up the basket and score crazy points for us. Carry/palming the ball are called far less today....Pete had to keep his hands mostly on top of the ball, it's just a different time. Pete did videos back then on ball handling drills...he was amazing and I'd put him in that class with those guys.
