For people wondering the aftermath for the officer, he was in the hospital for several hours undergoing intensive testing to make sure he was okay, he was able to make a full recovery. (It was also confirmed that it was brake fluid and chlorine that was in the pipe bomb)

Pool Chlorine and Brake Fluid is one of those really bad combinations you don’t want to mess with. In fact pool chlorine in general is highly reactive oxidizer and has a lot of things that mixing it with anything can cause serious problems. In this case the resulting combination gets very hot very fast, causing an a lot of energy as well as hot chlorine gas (a.k.a. Mustard gas). In small exposure it will cause you to have trouble breathing, irritate the eyes, nose, airways, it can cause vomiting and headaches, and generally make you feel horrible. In stronger exposure it can cause you to cease breathing, pass out, and death. The use of chlorine gas as a chemical weapon in World War I was so harmful and cruel it was one of the first chemical weapons banned by the Geneva Conventions as being to cruel to use on people. I’ve had minor exposure being dumb while working on a pool it makes you feel like you’re about to die for a good 5-20 mins while your body deals with that out of your system. This cop must have felt like shit. It can range from feeling like pepper spray to extreme tear gas exposure and you will generally feel like having getting strep throat for the next day.

@@Thunterise no, I’m just trolling these trolls. My father was a very big believer in being a positive influence in the community. Violating their constitutional rights is the worst possible way to negatively impact the opinions the citizens in your city has of their local law enforcement. My dad was the police chief for 19 years and every year for the city’s heritage days he made it mandatory that all his officers attended and took at least 2 pictures with 2 different members of the community they had good interactions with and type up a short summary of who it was they talked to & what they talked about. Every year the city holds a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and one year 2 kids couldn’t find a 3rd player so they weren’t going to be allowed to enter until my dad took off his gear and signed up as their 3rd teammate. They lost immediately but the impact he had on both those kids was so great 15 years later they got P.O.S.T. certified and became cops. At my father’s funeral both of them gave very heartfelt speeches explaining why they became cops; my father. I must humbly say my father was a fantastic police officer. It wasn’t all about writing people tickets to him, it was about bettering his community.

For those who are concerned, the officer was taken to the hospital then later released. But he was lucky, he avoided permanent damages to his lungs. Those chemicals could harm him permanently. Also, they found another gun in the truck and an illegal silencer (I don’t know if legal silencers exist, sorry). The guy’s property was searched by all the sherif’s department and a bomb unit: they arrested another man (co owner of the property) cause there was much more drug over there (drug at least, maybe other stuff but they didn’t mention other explosive devices). The driver is held without bond and refuses to cooperate with authorities. He’s 60 and has no history with law enforcement at all. He just came out of the blue.. He just told the device was not a bomb but was meant to transport the substances ^^ But the words « SAFE » and « ARMED » were written on the device. That’s how/why the « intent of harming » was determined.

The officer got lucky that the chemicals either weren't added in the right quantities or that it didn't mix properly, otherwise he could have easily died (the vest would have only protected his chest, not his face, neck, legs, etc.).

I worked in an insurance company that insured Co-ops and cotton gins and other agricultural businesses. We watched a video about anhydrous ammonia. I know a police officer and he took me on a ride along back in the day. I asked him what the scariest situation he’s ever been in and he told me at a traffic stop where he ended up arresting the driver, the drivers girlfriend told the officer afterwards that the driver was about to kill the officer. As a long time paralegal/legal assistant, I can confirm many more of them pack than the attorneys, and most pack bc of the attorneys. When you have attorneys who sprint out the back door when angry defendants show up looking for them, someone has to pick up the slack 🤷‍♀️

This is the county next to me and we use the same signals and ten-codes. The deputy keys up to the dispatcher and doesn’t even know who to ask for. Umm…b*mb squad, ems, fire, wtf? and quickly tells the dispatcher everything is under control. That’s not something you expect from a unit “uhh, send help, something exploded but everything is fine”. This could have been so much worse. Glad everyone is safe. I can confirm the probability of sovereign citizenship is high.

My thoughts: Cops are never your friend. The cop in the video sometimes sounded like Hank Hill. Once, in a used car I owned for about 3 months, I had to slam on brakes when someone came over into my lane. From under the passenger seat, an empty Linkin Park CD case, a tape measure, AND an apparently unused crack pipe slid out. None of them were mine, and like I said, I had the car for about 3 months. That's all I've got. 😂❤

That's a bad day right there for both parties invovled. Interesting that not only that the cops asked if there was a bomb in the car with his listings (you don't usually hear that as part of the question, at least around here) but he LITERALLY CHECKED OFF ALL THE BOXES. Cop was lucky to keep all his limbs and vision. Chlorine combined with many things is ABSOLUTELY HAZARDOUS.
