The tripping high limit makes me think it’s a dirty evap coil, based on seeing how dirty that blower wheel was.

probably oversized by far, half the registers closed/broken/blocked, lack of return air and plugged everything. you know, the usual hacked and butchered dinosaur homes. 🙄
@JakePorterHVAC6 сағат бұрын
I know you can't show everything in the videos and you probably already thought about this stuff. I understand its an emergency call with after hours/weekend rates too, so you don't want to rack up hefty labor charges at those rates since you look out for your customers. If it is still an issue during normal hours, do a temp rise test. You might have done this stuff off camera already. Check the air filter and confirm the registers are open. If needed, up the blower speed to medium high for heat since its a 4 speed motor. Would try to push more air for the heat call. Medium low sometimes isn't enough air. Also, confirm the gas pressure and see if it can be adjusted down and the combination of the 2 adjustments could help that temp limit not trip. Stay safe and warm out there. Thanks for the video.

4:36 here in Florida, the HVAC companies that come and do a tune-up when have service agreement with do not clean fan motors or blades, do not clean outdoor unit with hose or blow out leaves and junk, they just check indoor units and see if clocked lines, put cleaner down and hook shop vac to condensate line outdoors and then add water back so not dry. That about all they do and have time don’t screw covers in correctly and always fixing along w/ cleaning up all the crap from shoes etc…when leave. DO LIKE HOW THOROUGH you guys are and CLEAN!

I get it that it's a 20 year old unit and it's a emergency sunday job, but I'd like to know if washing the blower wheel is reserved for summertime as a extra that customer can choose? Don't wanna be creating slipping hazards with icing conditions outdoors anyway

I don’t doubt that the homeowner has a dirty fan, they probably have dirty ductwork too. I’m surprised that they didn’t opt for duct cleaning, maybe after they watch the video you can sell them a new system and they can get their ducts cleaned. Side business for you?
