This stuff is crazy awesome. I'm trying to start learning itf and I don't understand the comments about this sport not belonging in xgames. Have you seen the skateboard street finals? They're relatively slow. Entertaining, but slow. This sport looks very fast paced and I'm sure the modern xgames crowd would dig it, but the community is drastically smaller.

Its because anyone with enough dedication can get good at this, very few people could ever reach pro skateboarding level. Most people can't ollie a skateboard, any goober can jump. It looks stupid and just plain is stupid.

Aggressive Inline's downfall is so unfortunate. I was a young kid during its height of popularity. My big brother skated for senate. I used to love watching him perform tricks; it was like he was a god or something. Not trying to rag on skateboarding or bmx, but I'd rather be watching this any day. addy no doubt i was sitting here think when I was at the skatepark today...what really happened. Great idea fun to do but it just fell off. And i have my theories after running into some people in the industry, they just aren't likable characters. Most I honestly feel were spoiled kids who once they grew up realize they couldn't be spoiled anymore and found real jobs. Unfortunately for other sports I don't feel bikers and skateboarders were products of spoiled kids. They just wanted to build on something they felt special. That is just my take. I still love to rollerblade but even back in 2007 I could see it was dying away and in 2017 its dead.
@DCProductions777 жыл бұрын
Andy another thing the sport went dead when the style changed over to skinny jeans. It wasn't us and never was. It never will be. Its just the way it is. People wanted to change over with society but we were always different. Arlo said he wanted to be different and it seems like people wanted to fit in. Shame though I never switched my style I just watched people fade away.

Addy C: I personally think it was just the fact that inline skating could only progress so far...unlike BMX and Skateboarding you have no bike or board to flip only urself ...so basically you can only ever really do spins and flips and simple grinds

I was just going to mention....when I was fifteen, I came into aggressive inline fairly late....I was in Brighton and the best I could do was a basic acid grind on a knee-high concrete waxed ledge. I did a 360 rotation over a tumble dryer....but I gave up as I had too may accidents and bruises, scrapes really, all over arms.... People like Kate Curry, Fabiola Da Silva, Chris Haffey, Alex Broskow and Arlo Eisenberg...all CAN skate....some people are just plain terrible and you would never expect them to get sponsored....Even me...I had to say to myself: 'One day, dream of getting the big bucks off skating...' It requires perseverance and stamina to get lots of medals and recognition from the crowd, to score the highest marks....nothing comes easy, these days....

1)I feel like the skaters aren't fit enough and lack confidence, style and passion. 2)This competition format doesn't really fit the sport. It should be a day of streetskating outside where individual tricks and attempts and judged without time pressure. It'd rather see creativity, style, courage and power rewarded instead of endurance in a pre-determined pressure setting.
