Johnny Thunders used to kick off many of his shows with a real kick ass version of this tune.

Truly. When he could stand up, Thunders was one of the best. The version of Pipeline on So Alone is the defining version.

There’s a piano lead in pipeline and the way I do it on the guitar: g5 d7 (twice) pause d7 g5/b5 g7 g5 g4 d5 (twice) pause d5 g4 (twice) g5/g4 g2 d3 (twice) pause d3 g2 (twice) g4/g2 g1 d2 (twice) pause d2 g1 (twice) g2/g1.
