Afternoon flight from 2 small non-towered airports in Pennsylvania. Very smooth flight, but a decent amount of traffic.

@CerebralDad yeah, I noticed that after, but not during the flight! Must be it wasn't closed the whole way and latched. Amazing what you find when you watch one of your flights!

@@J1Aviation Just glad it held together. That would have been a spicy landing. Btw Its nice discovering local pilots. I'm a student pilot at the Flying W (N14). Your son is awesome btw, cant wait to experience the same with my kids.

@CerebralDad oh that's neat you are in NJ. I don't get that way very often due to the Class B, I tend to stay on this side. Yeah, I love flying with my kids, our son always wants to go! Your's will love it also I'm sure! It's definitely a fun activity to do together.

Did my flight training and flew out of Smoketown in the early and mid 1990s. Enjoyed riding along for the memories.

@@J1Aviation I never liked landing on 10. Fortunately, prevailing winds were out of the west so 28 was pretty typical takeoff and landing. 10 ran downhill so I always had to remember not to come in too high.

Did my training and pvt checkride in a 140 at N47. After working as an instructor at Reading, I had a few students at Smoketown.

The Piper Cherokee 140 was the first plane I started out on back in 1973.

Where I'm training right now, we're right by the Long Island Sound (Tweed Airport in CT), and so far every time I've flown I haven't been able to be hands off for very long cause of how windy it is. It is hella fun for those brief moments though!

@@J1Aviation Thank you! I've only had 4 lessons so far plus my intro, but man is it fun. Where we train I've noticed the midday flights are always bumpier. Today we went out late morning and it was way smoother.

I remember making a nice little flight to Smoke time myself. Knock on a lie, the first time I went there. I had a hard time finding the field. Definitely a nice little airport that I want to fly back to at some point.

Cool. I live right near ILG so 10 min air time and 35-40 drive time from N57. I’m in the process of buying a 140 myself. Hopefully I’ll catch you around in in the air. Fly safe.

Is the top lock on the cabin door not working? That is a huge air gap between the top of the door and cabin.

I own a PA28-140. The door will pop open if you do not lock upper lock. @@J1Aviation
