Find a power setting that will get you in the GS. Keep your banks within the standard rate of turn or keep your bank angle within 10 degrees. Better if you know where the wind is coming from so you can point your nose into the wind by a few degrees from course. My instructor always says "small correction makes small mistakes" - that was 15 years ago. Scan Scan Scan! Scan like this: Look at your AI (Attitude Indicator) then HSI and then back to AI. Altitude then back to AI. Airspeed then back to AI. Turn indicator then back to AI. Rate VVI then back to AI. DO NOT fixate on one instrument. This is how I scan in the sim and real-life flying. This may seem like a lot of work but after a while, it becomes second nature and you don't even realize that you're doing it.
