Let’s be real here. While on the outside Ridley may seem like a merciless killing machine (and I mean, he is), even he has a heart. He knew this tournament would be Linus’s only shot and didn’t want to take that from him. He gave Linus the opportunities he needed to win, all the while keeping the game close so it wouldn’t be obvious he was throwing the match. Cloud on the other hand? He’s the real villain, willing to crush the hopes and dreams of thousands if that’s what it takes to win.
