If you think about it, norrington saving will when he was a kid led to the events that ruined his life, if will was never in the picture then elizabeth wouldve never gotten the aztec gold necklace, she wouldve never been kidnapped, jack would be behind bars, port royal would have never been attacked, norrington wouldve married the love of his life as he kept on climbing the promotional ladder and he wouldve never been killed by will's own father. Will was truly the bane of his existance💀

It's not Will's fault that Elizabeth robbed him while he was unconscious, and outright lied to Barbossa about who she was. I was never entirely sure why she did? Besides, Jack would have gotten out one way or another

And shi lied because she thought if they knew she was the governor's daughter that she would be a valuable bargaining chip that they can use against port royal

OST is objectively better than DMTNT cuz Jack is still witty in the 4th film. In the 5th film Jack is just an idiot.

The only thing i really remember about the 4th film is the Spanish showing up to the fountain and saying "My man God dosent approve of this" and destroying a miracle location and just fucking leaves. 😂

One thing id give the 5th film credit for is the action scenes. The opening with the building chase is so stupid its almost too dumb to take seriously but honestly i love it and same with the gilliutine scene too.

The CGI crew in Death Man’a Chest were not given enough time, they were pushed to extremes. They probably should not have done such a good job because that set unrealistic standards

Nice list! For me personally, I'd rank the series as is: 1. Dead Man's Chest - 2. At World's End (despite its flaws, sluggish second half, and the constant backstabbing, the lore, the world-building, the Locker, and the ending made up for all of that. Fun fact: there actually was a real life Brethren Court called the Brethren of the Coast. I also found the idea of pirates having their own political council a bit odd, but I forgave that once I heard about the real life faction). - 3. Curse of the Black Pearl (I can *definitely* see why many still consider it the best, but I just find it a bit overrated). - 4. Dead Men Tell No Tales/Salazar's Revenge (it's a mess, it contradicts established canon in all too many ways, and it turned Jack into a drunken idiot, but at least it was entertaining, there were some ideas that I liked, and I still geek out over the end credits scene. That was one of the sole redeeming factors of this film). - 5. On Stranger Tides (When you make a Pirates film boring, then you know you screwed up. I don't think its a bad film by any means, but I fall asleep every time I try to give it another chance, and there's really nothing about it that's memorable or re-watchable for me).

On Stranger Tides is pretty decent, I like it. It does show that Will and Elizabeth etc were pretty important, but also that there is/was room for more standalone movies in the franchise.

My ranking from best to worst: 1st (Curse of the Black Pearl) Classic swasbuckling pirate action 2nd (On Stranger Tides) Suprisingly good adventure movie with descent humor, cool visuals and a badass villain. 3rd (Dead Mans Chest) Pretty much a adrenaline rush 4th (At Worlds End) A bit too complex and bloated, but still enjoyable 5th (Dead Men Tell No Tales) Only one I dont enjoy. Despite some neat visuals, the problems in the movie are just too big to overlook.
