This is SUCH a great movie and Jack Sparrow is one of the best movie characters of all time. You may know this already, but Johnny Depp dresses up as Jack Sparrow and visits sick kids in children's hospitals and stuff. He's been doing that for years which I think is really cool. Side note: I absolutely LOVE that you dressed up for this and you two should do more cosplay movie reactions, that's really fun and entertaining! Cheers

I'm not sure if you knew this or not & I'm letting you guys know just in case if you guys didn't know this, but if you continue to watch the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, make sure that you guys watch all the way through the ending credits because after the ending credits, they always have one last scene to watch. For example with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, the last scene after the ending credits shows Captain Barbossa's pet monkey Jack taking one of the cursed medallions back out of the chest again and you see Jack rurn back into a cursed monkey again. But there's one final scene after the ending credits for the following Pirates of the Caribbean movies, which are Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides & Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. I hope that helps you guys out! I hope that you guys will watch the rest of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies because they really are amazing movies & I really enjoy watch your guys reactions to different movies. What you missed was Jack's slight of hand when he grabbed the coins telling Barbosa to wait for the opportune moment. He grabbed 4 coins but only dropped 3. Will saw him pocket one which is why Jack was now part of the curse. You need to watch the rest...4 more to go - Dead Man's Chest, At Worlds' End, On Stranger Tides and Dead Men Tell No Tales which of the series is my 2nd favorite.

Loosely based on the ride. Then after this film blew up, the changed the ride to match the movie. Pretty much the only thing from the OG ride are the men in the cell trying to get the keys from the dog and the pirate drinking place - Tortuga, I suppose.

Fun fact: They originally wanted Hugh Jackman to play Captain Jack Sparrow. They said that the writers even used Jack like in Hugh Jackman's name to entice him to take the role. As we can see. Johnny did the role the best.

I'm very fond of it, but I'm not going to pretend it's the "best" when there is nothing to compare it to in the first place.

In the Kingdom Hearts 2 game, there's a part where you go to the world of this movie, and the last boss is the hardest one I ever played! The monster keeps throwing the cursed coins out of the chest and you have to collect them all to put them back before you can kill it.

This movie is so funny and so well done. I had read that Disney executives, and other actors kept asking him what the hell he was doing during filming. They were like "are you supposed to be drunk are you supposed to be gay? like what is this thing that you're doing?" Johnny Depp said "fire me or trust me with this role". I guess acting like that doesn't translate without editing. Anyhow Disney gets to eat a big doo doo sandwich for firing the best pirate that ever existed. On that note I'm going to watch that movie right now!!

I think the moment at 27:00 when Jack is working his way up between the pirates and Barbosa says "Not possible." is one of my favourites in all of cinema. There are few things more badass than instilling superstitious dread in the literal undead skeletal pirates.

A year late, but just imagine the situation from the perspective of Barbossa: You mutineer and leave the old captain to die on a tiny island. You get cursed, pillage, kill, and god knows what for years. You almost get back all the aztec gold to lift the curse. Then, you probably hear from one of your crew that he saw Jack Sparrow alive in the prison cells of a city you just raided. Well, you think, hes gonna get hanged. Doesnt concern you. You wonder how the hell he managed to get off that island tho. Then, when youre about to lift the curse on the isle de muerta, Jack appears. He somehow managed to evade certain death AGAIN. You put him back on that island with a random woman. Sure, he made a miraculous escape from there once, but what the hell are the chances. Youre about to kill Bills son to finally lift the curse. Who appears out of absolute nowhere? Jack Sparrow. At this point, you just dont even think about killing Jack. You just listen to his bullshit. What else are you gonna do? You shoot him, he will die in front of you, and a few days later he will absolutely come back for revenge or something. This man cannot die.

That garment Elizabeth Swann is locked into is called a corset. In the early days, these torture garments were tied tightly in place with laces, making it hard for a woman to breathe (more important to look good than feel good). Corsets eventually evolved into girdles, which replaced laces with elastic, allowing women to at least breathe, even if not to have an 18 inch waist.

Johnny Depp is from my hometown, Owensboro, Kentucky. He recently came home to visit family and was just casually walking through a residential area by himself. People that lived on that street spotted him, asked for a pic, and he posed, hugged their kids, and smiled 🥹🥹🥹.. his only request was to wait until he left town to post the photos on social media. Some things, the female pirate on the ship is Zoe Saldana (Gamora) and she apparently said she almost quit acting after doing this movie. Jack Sparrow was loosely based on a real pirate named Jack Rackem “Calico Jack” who was known for wearing flashy/exotic attire and have it 2 notorious female pirates in his crew, Mary Reed and Anne Bonnet. Also pirates typically had their own personal pirate flag design and the skull with cutlasses design was Calico Jacks flag. Jack had the curse because when he was telling Barbossa to wait till after he killed the soldiers, you can see him slip one of the coins up his sleeve.

You guys are so much fun to watch with ❤️❤️❤️ 7:21 yes the corset was too tight 🤣 Historic note: Sadly lots of women died after falling into water in those days because of the amount of dress, underskirts and petticoats they wore. They literally sank like an anchor as the fabric got wet. Lacing was usually at the back. Even if men jumped in to save the women it was sometimes too difficult to remove the garments. Very tragic 😕

Every year north of Houston there’s a huge renaissance festival, every weekend in October and November, different theme every weekend, the most popular in my opinion is the pirate weekend, such a great time, there’s a big pirate bar on the grounds with captain Jacks everywhere, so much fun especially if you dress up then you feel like part of community, I used to go at least 4 weekends, I lived close just south of the forest down there, thanks y’all! And look for a festival near you
