I need a dedicated video on that chicken please. I hate to sound demanding or anything but please make that video.

Nicely painting wild west outlaw.

Never played a western-style mini-game, but I would mode them into some nice wild west inspired adventurers for Stargrave. Nothing like some planetary homestead adventurers. Love how the mini turned out. Nice earthy colors. I also love how you research the colors for period clothing. Most people (me included) would honestly just paint them whatever we wanted and be done with it. But you actually try and theme the colors based on what was available for the time period.

Nicely done Troy. Good choice of colours, some of my favorites in there.

Badger Johnson Apparently at 5, my dad wandered into a tent revival that was in town and as his nervous catholic mother and aunts tried to lure him out he exclaimed "I'M NOT LEAVING UNTIL THEY PLAY PISTOL PACKIN' MAMA!!!"

Good to see more of these! Really tempted to pick up a box or two. Out of curiosity, how does the scale align with other ranges - e.g., Mantis, etc. The urge to kitbash grows strong. I know some ranges - e.g., Northstar and Perry - can look a tad wonky together.
@SonicSledgehammerStudio2 жыл бұрын
These have come out of the Renedra plastic production lines, I'm pretty sure. They're similar in scale to Stargrave and Frostgrave plastics. The parts from this box aren't going to fit terribly well with many other lines, though; they're much more slight and thin than most guys, but you might get a couple of Perry bodies with floofy sleeves and pistols if you like.

Your videos are very interesting and relaxing to watch. I hate to mention it, but her holster is on the wrong side.
@SonicSledgehammerStudio2 жыл бұрын
At least this once I can say it was intentional! 😅 The holster wouldn't sit quite right against the opposite hip, so I figured I'd toss it on the other side and she'd cross draw.
@Rustygulley-r3r2 жыл бұрын
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Ah, I see it now. I was confused by the slope on the pistol belt, I guess. I'm getting into making holsters so I suppose I was paying too much attention to that aspect of the model. Beautiful painting, as always. Even though I haven't painted a miniature in decades I love to watch you work.

Interesting box, I'm waiting for Stargrave's female ones, these minis are really good, converting figures is really easier now. P.s.I liked how the hat was lightly darker on the strap, as logically were!

The chicken will go nicely with the chicken in the Wargames Atlantic halfling box. I'm hoping more companies will make chickens. Who needs warhounds when you can have a pack of raging war chickens!

Excellent as ever - one of the weird quirks of being into historicals is that you can never have too many approaches to browns, leather, and greens! (I really need that chicken)

The paintjob is great, but these types of miniatures always end up looking like they were assembled from parts. While I see the problems with monopose miniatures, they do end up looking better. I guess this is an advantage of 3D printing in that model makers can create multiple poses of the same character and you can just print the ones you like.
@SonicSledgehammerStudio2 жыл бұрын
It's one of the limitations of plastic kits, I guess. If I were more patient with filling gaps and such it'd probably not be so obvious, but I'll take the option while it's there.
@Hedgehobbit2 жыл бұрын
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio It has nothing to do with the gaps. It's how their arms and legs just stick out to the sides in the same way. I've got dozens of space marines and IG that look like that.

@@Hedgehobbit3D printing is way more trouble than its worth in my opinion. They need alot of clean up and ive had one mini break and after trying three types of glue that did literally nothing I gave up trying to fix it. These, an GW minis look fine as modular minis and its also crucial for the tabletop
