Does having a shorter skirt on the piston cause more cylinder wear due to the piston likelihood to have increased 'sideway' play.

When an engine is running, the piston actually floats and just brushes against the cylinder wall. It is the piston rings that contact the wall to make a gas seal. On the downward, intake stroke the oil keeps the friction low. Generally, a shorter skirt design is for short stroke engines and vs versa.

Hey guys here's a question for yuh, what's happening there are no 74mm pistons available?

For longevity we recommend a maximum of 73.5mm

This is a terrific and informative video but I take issue with this man calling those digital calipers a Vernier scale.

I get pulled up on the same error too. Once you use a vernier caliper everything is a vernier caliper be it dial or digital.

Why so much crown height? Thought shorter crown height and subsequently lighter was better?

What are the negatives to a longer conrod and shorter crown? Physics after all, cant imagine you get something for nothing.
