@@led8541 I just know that because I've been looking at one... WalMart & Bed Bath & Beyond both for $335 w/free shipping. But thinking about going larger like the new Pro Series 850 or 1100 for quite a bit more money.

Hey William i have the 1100 now i dont like it as much as the 700 I think there is to much surface area to heat up and it dosnt cook as even. I gave my 700 to a fellow that works for me now i wish i kept it.

@@led8541 That's good to know. It's just me at home now. My sons have a Cabellas and a Traeger smokers. I have seen that new 1100 owners are reporting as high as 75°F temp variations end to end within the 1100's lengthy cooking chamber...

@@williamriley2528 Yea there is a pretty big temp range ive used it a lot so im getting used to it but when its time to buy a new one i will go smaller for sure. I think i may go with the traeger next time just to do a comparison i think that would be a great video for my channel . Have a great weekend and Happy Grilling led

This will be my second summer with my pit boss. i smoke ribs alot on it. Between the pit boss instructions and a website heygrillhey i have smoked alot of stuff. when it comes to the heat shield i pretty leave mine in place. i do in direct cooking with my steaks and they get a little smoke ring with them. Have fun and experiment with mixing pellets for different flavor profiles.

So how much electricity does the smoker use? Also for a standard smoke ie. brisket or ribs how many pellets does it take. Thanks pit boss looks great
@led8541
@led8541 5 жыл бұрын
Hey andrew the pellet grill plugs in to any 110 outlet and the auger runs periodically so it cant be pulling that much juice as far as pellets go i did a video and grilled every day for a week on one hopper full so you get a lot of cook time out of one bag of pellets thanks for watching and have a great weekend led

I just got done smoking a 16 pound brisket, before fat trimming, and it took 20 hours and used about 1 hopper full. It was set to 225 for about 14 hours and 250 for the rest of the time.

Do you need put your racks and other parts in while during the first burn? I thought the whole idea of doing the first burn was to burn off/get rid of all the film/residue from the factory? Just bought my first pellet (Pit Boss) a couple weeks ago, and trying to learn as much as I can before the first use. Thanks!

Thats what our instructions says to do. To make sure the pellets are feeding right then put everything back on and do the 1st burn off to get all the factory residue off. Thats what we did anyways.

Just purchased this pellet smoker, never had one, still in the box just have not had time to put it together. So, where does the heat come from? the wood pellets? and the plug in is just to keep the pellets moving? and what about the ash?
@williamriley2528
@williamriley2528 4 жыл бұрын
There is an igniter that heats up and glows red hot to start the wood pellets. Then it's just flame & heat from the wood pellets in the fire can.

Just got one myself. I am not sure that my buttons are working correct. Can you confirm how long it took to Prime it? I was holding the prime button per instructions, but it didn't seem to load pellets any faster. It finally started dropping them after about 3 min. Also when I hold the power button to turn off...I noticed that the blower still stays on, only the lcd screen turned off. Is my unit defective, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Craig Chapman i just over thanksgiving bought the one at Walmart . I haven't yet started it but im very impressed with it . It is large for just the wife and i but offers options . I had looked on internet snd found a place with low price 317.00$ and showed the wife . She took a picture of my phone then when she went in she showed them the add . So i ended up getting steep discount . I was very surprised cause i never could find that add again . This thing weighs ovef 100 pounds . I think / if you get one followinstructions and bolt up bottom shelf before standing it up as you will end up flipping it back over most likely to finish the bolts . There was no extra bolts or washers in my parts . My book said have a level but that was not needed . I think it is as good a one as you can get

Also the Fb 700 has the shelf below but is not solid it is crossed wires like 1/4" rods / anyone intrested i settled on Pit Boss cause of how accomodating the service dept was . I saw guys that were such ass holes about problems that they bent over backwards to resolve any issues . The kinda guys i would have told to get fucked but DANSONS helped get them up and running . Im very confident i wont have anyissues but if i were to have any problems im just as confident Pit Boss will be there to help me find the saloution and that is very important for me . Also after i got my Pit Boss 700FB , my wife ran into a salesman somewhere that told her they were getting excellent feed back and recommendation that exceeded their 1,000$ Treager model . I have noticed out of top three manufacturers the other two are filling the internet with their bullshit trying to push Pit Boss out . Pit Boss is the best .

Quick question! When you want to smoke something do you just keep it on the smoke setting or do you have to put it on the certain heat your looking for? Im confused how to keep the temp where you want it but also keep it on smoke option. thanks!
@led8541
@led8541 6 жыл бұрын
the best temp for smoking for me is at 180 which is the lowest setting some people use 220 the smoke is automatic because you use wood pellets. if you set it up to 350 or 400 it will feed more often and keep the flames rolling hard which in turn makes less smoke i use 350 to 400 when i do steaks it does a great job on them. i hope this helps
