Man after less than a year the heat shield in my Pit Boss is all rusted and peeling. And this is with regular cleanings and covered 100% of the time. Maybe it's the Fla humidity, I dont know but it rusted really really fast. Wonder if there is anything that can be done to prevent this.

Mines the same way.......when I do a good cleaning I put a layer of vegetable oil of olive oil on it to try to help....
