This is so sad. That poor woman obviously had health problems and having her little dog killed before her eyes has got to be heartbreaking. Did the police ever do anything ? At the very least, animal control should have been called and taken that pit away from the owner or at least got it off the street. It will try to kill again the next dog it targets. The pit owner also needs to be fined for having a loose dog. Doubtful if the owner will be found.

Dragon Heart Can i ask you something man? Are you familiar with hound dogs? You know like beagles and the like? You know the dogs that hunters use to hunt fox and deer and whatnot? Do you know why hunters use beagles and hounds to hunt opposed to say, Pomeranians? Or even pit bulls. Why don’t hunters use packs of pit bulls versus beagles. I ask because a pit bull owner tells me Pits are not aggressive by nature. Its all about how you raise them. If that’s the case, why don’t farmers hunt with jack russels? I’ll tell ya why. It’s called DNA. Certain breeds were created to do certain things. Beagles and hounds were bred to hunt. Pits were bred to fight. This is a part of the DNA. You cannot train a dog out of its dna or instinct. Beagles Hunt... it’s what they do and what they’ll always do. Pits fight. That’s what they do. An owner giving it more love or whatever excuse they give nowadays whenever a pit kills somebody or something is complete bullshit. It sounds nice and fair but it defies science. Pit bulls are aggressive and nothing can change that. If it were really so easy and all about how the owner raises the dog, then hunters could use any dog to hunt instead of beagles. Using their logic, a hunter should be able to get the same results out of all breeds if it all comes down to how you raise them. So why do they limit themselves to hounds. You get where I’m going. I love all dogs. I have friends with pits that raise them right but the fact of the matter is they are powerful and aggressive dogs by nature than often and easily overpower their owners. Owning a pit bull is like walking over a land mine you’re told is probably deactivated. Lol. Dumb dumb dumb
@justinrichardtheshadow82486 жыл бұрын
The way a dog is trained, treated and the environment they are in does affect their behavior. I have been around pits and watched several videos of pits. I've seen pits that were raised on farms and able to interact with ducks and chickens without attacking them. I have been around pits groomed for fighting that were very aggressive to other dogs and had to be kept in separate cages. I have seen a video of a 4 year old girl feeding 4 pit bulls bigger than her and she was able to control them. This pit was obviously a street dog not on leash with no training and those are the results, other breeds of street dogs also attack other animals. Training does matter regardless of the breed or instincts.
@bonzai83166 жыл бұрын
Justin Richard Then why don’t hunters “raise and train” other breeds to hunt with? Why limit themselves to hound? If you can simply raise and dog and condition it to behave exactly how you want it to, conditioning any breed to hunt should be feasible according to your theory. I love Pits. Don’t get me wrong. They’re amazingly agile, nimble, and often fiercely loyal protectors of their owners. But, in spite of that, they still have a genetic predisposition to fight and be aggressive. This was bred into the gene pool over many many generations. You can limit/reduce these genetically predetermined behaviors significantly but you cannot eliminate them completely. And even that takes great effort.

@SinNombreBiH6 жыл бұрын
First of all, pit bulls are stable if you make them stable. Of course we must blame the owner, because he is responsible for the attack. If you don't invest time and patient in the dog then don't go for one, don't go for any dog! Most important thing is that they need to be socialized from the beginning, this needs every dog. People usually wan't only a pit bull to show of in the public and later they can't handle him, and then this happened what you say. There are many examples how to have a nice dog (pit bull) or even a family dog. This is the truth, you know it and I know it, you are just limited to look further from "you fucking idiot blala".
@maemoo33546 жыл бұрын
teotw_ogk that's true to an extent. We can't always blame the owner completely. I say completely as there is some/most blame on the owner. Each dog or animal in general has their own personality, and are just aggressive. You can always reduce the risk of your aggressive dog attacking someone else, by keeping it on a leash, buying a muzzle, or walking them in a less populated area, like the woods, or countryside. When it comes down to it though, the dog attacked the other dog with the intent to kill it, and the dog is mostly to blame. It has its own mind and it's own personality, it knew what it was doing. Not all aspects of an animal can be controlled. Key word: animal.
@SinNombreBiH6 жыл бұрын
It mostly happened if they are in the wrong hands and if they had a wrong growth process. If people would follow some rules then there would be no attacks, people fail in many things, thats why the world is bad and it gets even worse. Their personality is not a aggressive one in the first place, they are loving, loyal, family dogs and also protective dogs, if they are in the right hands. Every dog can be aggressive, the problem when it happen with a pit bull is that he is very powerfull. They wan't someone who lead them and most people fail on this. They like to be around people, don't let them alone in the corner. For me 99% the owner is guillty for his aggressive state. But I agree with you to put a muzzle on if your dog has problems with aggressiveness to reduce the risk of a attack.

Either way the pit bull should have been on a leash not even only because of people’s safety, but for its own safety as well.

Several years ago, a pit-bull/pointer mix attacked by blind cat. the cat slipped out the front door and when he realized he was in an unfamiliar place/lost, he meowed loudly for me as he often does when he is unsure of his surroundings..Upon hearing his distinctive meow, I ran towards him only to discover that an unleashed canine had also heard him and was bolting towards him at full speed. At that moment, I realized that the dog would get there2-3 seconds before I would. Rather than standing around like a helpless fool, i sprinted towards my furry feline friend. By the time I arrived, the dog already had my cat in its jaws (although its teeth had pierced flesh, I was grateful to find out later that the dog had not pierced any of my cat's vital organs. (Admittedly) Without thinking, I immediately dove in (despite risk of injury) and before the dog could do its vicious head shake (which would have surely killed my cat) I got the dog in a choke hold and mustering all of my strength, I yanked as hard as I could in what seemed to me at the time to be an unnatural position, snapping the dogs neck and seemingly killing him (although perhaps it was paralysed). The cat suffered severe damage to his hip bone which ended up costing me $2500 in surgery fees. I am not a big guy nor am i a necessarily strong guy. I was lucky to have pulled in a direction that caused fatal injury to the dog and I am sure that 9 times out of 10 the dog would have not only killed my cat but also maimed me. My point is that at least I tried (and in this case, succeeded) by acting immediately rather than just yelling/begging (what the dog would surely have interpreted as random noise) the dog to let go. Although the owner of the dog was there, he did nothing to attempt to stop this until after he realized that his dog was dead at which point he threatened me and called the cops. No charges were filed against me, although I forget the reason why the dog's owner was unable to press charges against me (i believe it was a combination of some legal technicality in conjunction with the fact that I had better "cop etiquette" than the dog's owner).
@The_0nly_N0VA7 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I wish I wouldn't have had to kill the dog and I am not proud that I did. However, if I had to do it over again, I would have done exactly the same thing as it was the only way to prevent my cat from being killed and myself from being injured. Regardless, it happened so fast that i cannot say for sure how much of my reaction was instinctual and how much was actually thought out: the entire event lasted no more than 90 seconds. If anything, I feel that the owner of the dog should have been penalized for A. not using a leash. B. not training his dog C. doing absolutely nothing to stop his dog (not even yelling helplessly as one can see the various dog-owners and passer-bys doing in this video and others like it). I know that some will state that it was my fault for allowing my cat the opportunity to escape, but he is blind and I could tell by his reaction that he didn't even realize he had left the familiarity of his own home until it was too late. Furthermore, in that particular neighbourhood, most cat-owners allow their cats to roam outside or even keep them as outdoor cats. Personally, I have always raised my cats to be indoor cats as it has been proven that indoor cats have much longer life-spans.

Jon-Laurence Esnard deCespedes When a dog got hold of my cat, it simply crushed him. My cat lasted 30 seconds before he died in my arms. I could 'feel' he was all broken inside, he couldn't breathe and his ribs were all broken. He had broken his own teeth trying to defend himself. It was all over in less than 1 minute (from attack til death) dog attacks are brutal, especially by big jawed breeds with crushing jaw power. My cat was in my dads shed, the dog was with a visitor and it jumped from the car it was in. My poor kitty, i still think of him 30 yrs later.

Bekah is handicapped, and along with the Lord Jesus Christ, Baby was her healer. Many people eventually came together to help, but you were the first. You were the one that gave Baby a chance. Without you, she had no chance. And even with this devastating outcome, you are our hero. You have Bekah's number and she has yours. We'd like to take you out for a drink one day. I'd like to meet you and thank you in person. You are a true hero. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Fernando. Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
RIP, Baby. So sorry for what happened to you. It's very common for pit bulls to be dog aggressive and try to kill other dogs. They were developed for animal torture and have been purposely bred to be animal/dog aggressive, so it would make sense that most of them are aggressive to other dogs.
@CSWRB8 жыл бұрын
My condolences for the loss of Baby. I hope you can get the pit owner charged for having a loose dog. Did the police take action? Hopefully they at least called animal control. That pit should NOT be allowed to go back to its owner. It will kill again.

This happened at Pismo Beach in California about 3 years ago to my wife little dog. All I remember hearing is my wife screaming and I ran over and a boxer bread of dog had my wife's little dog by the neck and was repeatedly chomping at the little dog piercing his flesh repeatedly. I don't blame my wife for not reacting she was pregnant at the time. But everyone else was standing around just yelling at the dog too stop. Even the owner of the boxer was yelling. I got there and tried getting the dog to release its bite. The dog wouldn't release its grip and instinct came too me and I grabbed the dog by the back and just started to put my fingers in the dogs butt hole and just start ripping and twisting my fingers and the dog let go finally and lunged to me. Thats when I put the dog in a bear grip until my wife was able to help our dog. Our dog lived thankfully. Sometimes slaps and punches wont help....you gotta go to the dogs butt. Thought I would share just in case any of you are in this situation. Bliss.

Not for nothing but it can turn quickly on you too. You want to do something but it's kinda scarry. You got to go to work and support your house and family too. Can't do that if your in the hospital recovering from wounds from a vicious dog attack. When you walk your dog good idea to take a big stick with you to walk with you can always use it as a weapon. Ashame they lady wasn't a guy could have used that cane to smack the pitbull with and maybe chase it away before it did much damage.Feel so bad for the lady the dog was probably her companion. It's almost like losing your kid in a way.

First of all those are not pitbulls so stop with all your b.s pitbull comments giving real pitbulls worser names and images than they already have these blue colored dogs and these super large dogs that kinda look like pitbulls are not pitbulls they are bullies / bandogs that are poorly bred dogs just for looks and money and when you breed dogs that way this is what you get along with human aggressiveness also and even tho real pitbulls are naturally animal aggressive any pitbull owner should know this before obtaining one and how to properly handle and confine them but they are not human aggressive unless made to be there is a very very big difference between the two and people should know this before going on with the b.s they continue to put out about the breed

This is why if your not experienced to owning a pitbull dont own one. Pitbulls like to be treated like there a human. Pitbulls like to have a lot of attention. They like to always have a lot of attention and to be treated almost the same way a human is. If they dont get a lot of attention the older they get the grumpier and worst they get. Also as there still small that the time you should get them used to being near other dogs. I know this because I own one.

I don’t believe pitbulls should be euthanized, and people saying that they are judged because they own pitbulls and they are sweethearts at their homes, listen they might be the sweetest dogs when you have them at home, but when they are out on the street their natural instinct kicks in when they see other dogs. And that’s just any dog not just pitbulls. Just because your dogs are good at home doesn’t mean they won’t harm any other dog on the street. All these situations are always the owner of the pitbull’s fault. Because they should have their dog on a leash and they should have control of their dog especially when walking near other dogs no matter the breed. Unfortunately these dogs here were just loose on the street. But in general, No matter how sweet a dog is with your family at home, always keep a tight grip on them and on their leash when outside in public where there will be other dogs

It's the pitbulls fault for killing the little dog yes. But we also have to remember that it's mostly the owner's fault. Dogs react to their environment and how they are trained and it also depends on how people treat their dogs. I have rehabilitated pit bulls I have been attacked by them do I give up on them no. I have Rehabilitation fighting Pitbulls to get along with other dogs because all they want to have is a loving caring home. Logan Preister Pitts are tougher and harder to stop than you might think. I've seen a video where a lady tried picking up her small dog, and two stray Rottweilers still got the dog down from her and killed the dog. Two things... people really need to stop turning Pitt Bulls into monsters, lest we end up banning them anyways (not to mention keeping them at bay, not wandering around)... and two, use common sense!
