Dog parks are new age B.S. You put 10 dogs together for the first time and you'll have a fight sooner or later. Some dogs assert dominance, some take it and some don't. Dogs have a complicated social hierarchy and sometimes fights break out. That's just the way it is.

Not to mention the diseases. My gsd got a papilloma virus and possibly her lethal cancer from the epstein barr virus. Dog parks are bad ideas. Way too many jerk owners and chaos. Don't do it

I agree. Dogs are complete strangers in dog parks, and trouble is just a move or a glance away. They have no hierarchy so they try to establish it with all the running around and grab-assing. They're seeing who's fit and strong.

@@willemtaurus Dog parks are the biggest bullshit there is. Their concept is based on the human misconception that all foreign dogs form "packs" and play nicely with one another. In this film, as in all others by the operator, you almost never see dogs playing. You can see the usual Dog Park Disaster: Bullying, fighting, heavily stressed dogs, mass hunts, the weakest are bullied and sometimes bitten by the stronger, and their owners do not give them any protection. You can see complete holder failure in this and all other videos. The mere fact that most of them cannot stop their dog without an ECollar shows how incredibly inept these owners are. Ultimately, these videos are sequences of human anti-social behavior that is imposed on the dogs and forced upon them. What is correct behavior in the socialization of the dog? You go for a walk with your dog as normal and meet another dog that is friends. Interactions are permitted under the owner's regulations, bullying, scuffling and hunting are immediately stopped If a dog seeks protection from the owner, this will be granted to him and the other dog will be sent away. The same principle applies to foreign dogs. If you want to learn the basics about canid behavior, it is worth visiting a good, positive-working trainer or attending a seminar.

@@willemtaurus If you agree with me that these films show how not to socialize, why are you disagreeing with me? Or is there any misunderstanding? I know where Europe is, also where Netherlands is, I come from Germany, my brother-in-law is Dutch, I have been coaching Wolfdog owners for a long time, and a Saarloos owner from Netherlands for some time. By the way: the Saarloos was founded in Netherlands. I'm a great fan of Netherlands. 😀 Modern scientific literature is always very good for working out basics, I recommend Bradshaw's "Dog sence" to begin with, all books by G. Bloch, D. Mech and E. The boxer mix did do a correction that was too harsh but at the same time all I seen was a lot of rolling, growling, and paw slaps and no actual biting, it just sounded bad. All the shepherd needed was a very slight correction from the boxer mix since shepherds are usually correction sensitive it should not have taken much to correct the shepherd.

The pitbull mix did nothing wrong. Based on the body language through out the whole video that black dog was being extremely disrespectful. The pitbull mix was actually pretty even tempered through out the video however when the black dog start getting in the pitbull's face then that is a direct challenge. Granted the pitbull mix was a bit dramatic it just shows you how upset he was with the disrespectful black dog. I own a pitbull and know that the beed as a whole can be dramatic in situations like this however you do get exceptions just like any other breed.

@@JustMe-ve5vp Okay, just so that you know, first, a dog disrespecting another dog isn't at thing. However if what you meant was that the black dog was not backing down from the mix pit's intimidation, that's because nobody made the mixed pit the alpha male and the black dog never got the memo he was supposed to be submissive. Especially for non-pack environments. This is a dog park and owners should only bring their dog there if it has high tolerance for other dogs who don't have pack positions. The black dog was just young and playful and didn't care that the mixed pit was giving off alpha fighting vibes. So I am the same as far as suppoting pits for getting a bad rap. But people like you cross the lines in trying to protect pits. The pit has no business at the dog park if he will suddenly become vicious, and he was the first to attack in a real fighting mode, so in every damn way he was at fault. I rememeber once on the news, a guy was walking his chihuahua down an alley. The little chi started barking at Two pit bulls behind a fence. The pits suddenly became furosious and dug and clawed to get out of the fence to get at the chi. Unfortunately they were able to get out and instantly killed the little chi. "Some" pit supporters were saying that it was the chihuahua's fault for challenging the pits. Now, can you see just how idiotic that defense is? Would they have said the same thing had it been a little boy who was taunting them? So please, if any pitbull, or any dog, is going to turn vicious from being challenged, taunted, "disrespected", at a dog park or ANY public space, that dog should never be brought there. And if those two pitbulls were to attack my dog for barking through a fence, they'd be two dead pits.

We didn't see what happened directly leading up to altercation but his reaction was over the top and is a flight risk if he can't control himself! Sometimes dogs need a very controlled atmosphere to be ok with other dogs or just dogs with the right temperament. It seems like owner set him up for failure.

The boxer started everything. It's an out of control late puppy stage(think late teen if it was a human) that has not been properly dog socialized as a puppy. The stupid owner thinks its cool that his dog goes around provoking every dog in the park, and the poor untrained dog is lucky that the other dogs were as tolerant as they were and that there were no packs of several dogs there at the time. My dogs are well trained and will patiently give me a chance to handle a dog that starts shit with one of them, but if I couldn't step in quickly enough, my big 130lb alpha rottie would, and the rest of my pack(a 90lb GSD and a 85lb Coy/GSD/huskie mix, and a 70 boxer) would join him if the other dog didn't take the hint and submit. That would only happen if something prevented me from stopping the other dog, but it would end tragically if it did.. Any dog that comes into a park with this kind of bad energy and aggressive body language is going to get a response eventually when he tries it with the wrong dog..

It’s for dogs to play and have fun/socialize with other dogs also it wasn’t bad energy because why didn’t it start before the husky did that because they were all playing at first also the pit/boxer gave a correction but it was a lil too much and the husky didn’t want to back down

Thinking of bringing your dog to a dog park? Here’s my advice: 1. Your dog should be trained. No, I don’t mean “sit” or “roll over”, I mean obedience trained. Your dog should be able to leave any situation the moment you call its name. If your dog isn’t trained, you shouldn’t bring them into the dog park. 2. Know your dog’s pack role. Does your dog tend to be the alpha in its pack? Or maybe it rolls over the moment another dog gives it “the look”? Well, if your dog has a role, keep that in mind before entering a dog park. Typically, dogs that don’t gravitate more towards one or the other (dominant or submissive) do best in group situations. 3. Is your dog healthy? Does your dog have all of its vaccinations? Is it young or elderly? Does it have any health issues they may be affected by another dog? Consider these things beforehand. 4. Test your dog first. How does your dog do with other dogs while in a leash? Is he friendly with your neighbor’s dog? What about small dogs? What about people? If you’re unsure about any of these things, don’t go in the dog park. 5. Leave when things look bad. If you notice a problematic dog, leave immediately. If you notice an owner that’s especially nervous about their dog, get ready to head out. 6. Know a dog’s body language. You should know your dog’s behavior, but you should also know dog body language in general. This will help you look for early signs, to avoid a fight. 7. Correct your dog often, praise your dog more. Always be on the lookout for bad behavior, but don’t forget to reward the good stuff. Now, in a dog park, it isn’t wise to bring treats/food into the equation. While all dogs who enter the park shouldn’t be resource guarders, someone may have brought one in. Either way, just give your dog a “good dog” and a pat on the head. No soft voices or trigger words that may give your dog a burst of excitement. You want it to be calm. 8. And lastly, be confident. Be confident in yourself. Be confident in your dog’s training. Heck, be confident in everyone else’s dog. Dogs love when their owners are confident. Plus, if you’re confident, that means you’ve PROBABLY taken all the proper measures to ensure your dog has a nice day at the park. Really not sure if this would help anyone, but hey, thought I’d throw it out there. Don’t forget to read the rules and enter at you and your dogs’ own risk.

There was a bunch of things wrong here, but the dog going for an attack warning instead of warning in a proper manner, etc isn’t okay because it teaches him that it’s okay to use biting as a resort, I literally have a Siberian husky and he tests every dog that’s new that enters the dog park.
