i agree that it is important for pitchers to maintain the ability to keep a low release point and that long toss encourages a "cast" or high release point but that is what the "pull-down" is for. A long toss is supposed to increase arm strength and there really is no way to do that unless you are moving towards extreme distances like 300 - 350 ft., using explosiveness and proper arm-stretching mechanics. Then you use that explosiveness while also going back to a low release point using the "pull-down" method. So I don't agree with Tom on the fact that pitchers should only long toss at a maximum in which they can keep the ball on a flat plain...that is not really long toss

Also long tossing is still the process of stretching out your muscles. So I also disagree with the no casting stuff. Throwing nice rainbows allows you to throw max distance with minimal tightness in your arm muscles allowing you to continue to stretch. On the way back in ,or the pullown ,you can lower the trajectory of your throws

Mr. Marshall are you saying that the arm angle should not be set for the approprate breaking pitch ? Also can you explain what you mean by this -> " rotate the hips and shoulders over their pitching arm foot on the pitching rubber."

Hi Tom, in the videos when the pitchers arm are extended behind their body's, at least with the left handed pitcher - his fingers are beneath the ball and not on top of the ball. What happened to turh your thumbs under so that the elbows are up. At times your elbows are also under the ball when you extend and your fingers are also then beneath the ball, is that what your teaching or just lack of concentration what you yourself are doing....!!!

As stupid as this notion of throwing low pitches error filled to injury of the Ulna Collateral Ligament by it's shredding, tearing and snapping because all movement away from the straight line to the Point at Home Plate. Randy Johnson was injured by pitching since he was 18 years old. Nolan was injured out in his lame throwing motion going 12 wins-11 L for all his career. Because idiots like this bozo above, mlboa has no room for more teams with injury prone baseball players and have said so even this year. If the baseball players contractd are lucrative, why are they never posted publicly anywhere?
